God’s enemy makes many a tool,
To sow false doctrines in each school.
In the New Testament there are many warnings given
us against false teachers and false doctrines.
The apostle Peter says that as there were false prophets
amongst the Israelites of old, so “ shall there be amongst you
(Christians), who privily shall bring in damnable heresies.”
“ And many,” he adds, “ shall follow their pernicious ways ;
by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken
of.” — 2 Pet. ii 1, 2.
We see the fulfillment of this prophcey in our own day.
Ungodly teachers, and even some who profess to be Chris¬
tians, are bringing in speculations, and doctrines in the name
of religion and “science” which are rapidly undermining
belief in the inspiration of the Bible, and the doctrines of the
Christian religion.
When the enemy of mankind tempted the Man Christ
Jesus he first tried to corrupt Him morally, by offering the
world’s wealth if He would only bow down and worship him.
Failing to so ensnare Him, he afterwards tried to take away
His life, and he succeeded through human instruments in his

awful and murderous aim. But God raised Jesus from the
dead, and afterwards took Him bodily to Heaven.
With the followers of Christ he reversed the plan. He
at first caused many of them to be put to death ; but still the
truth of God flourished.
Then through the Emperor Constantine he offered them
wealth and worldly advancement. This corrupted many,
and true faith seemed to decline. The “ dark ages ” closed
in over the world ; and the true faith was hidden in secret
and inaccessible places.
Still the truth existed ; and the Reformation blazed
forth “and light was sown for the rightous.” Truth came to
the front again. Printing was discovered. The Bible was
printed in the vulgar tongue. The enemy prompted his human
instruments and agents to seek out, and even to buy up all
etke Bibles they could find, so that the Word of God might be
destroyed by burning all the Bibles that the light of Truth
might be extinguished. But more Bibles were printed and
so the plan failed !
Profitting by past experience, the enemy grew more
subtle and a deeper plan was laid. The multiplication of
Bibles could not be stopped, therefore let them be corrupted.
So Versions of the Bible were printed, corrupting the
original texts in favour of false doctrines. Still faithful
translations multiplied and they did good work, strengthening
the minds of men and purifying their hearts by faith.
And now a deeper scheme came into operation. Men
sprang up in our seats of learning, and in famous univer¬
sities who threw doubt upon the Bible as a mere human
book or compilation of books, uninspired and unscientific.
This scheme prospered and has attained vast proportions,
and it seems likely to succeed where other plans have
failed.
Since man’s false “ science ” was enthroned
God’s Cosmic Truth has been Disowned.
And now the establishment of Mokammedism is being
encouraged in our “ Christian ” England by our authorities
permitting costly edifices to be erected, wherein the False

Prophet — Mohammed — i s to be worshipped . And his followers
are being permitted to go about proselyting all persons they
can manage — with Satan’s help — to deceive. Can our
Nation expect God’s blessing while its rulers permit the
establishment of such audacious insult to Him, and to his Son
in our midst ? No ! (See “ Answers to Questions,” Nos.
19 and 2.
But it seems to prove that the end of this dispensation is
approaching. We need not say that we do not judge or
condemn individual men, we dare not do so — but doctrines
false— and insults to our Creator, God — and to His Son—
Jesus, the Christ — our Saviour — we shall denounce while we
have a pen and voice, and strength to use them.
An earnest word of warning is needed against
these false doctrines which are everywhere corrupting the
minds of men from the simplicity of the truth and faith in
God. Take for instance the writings of the so-called
HIGHER CRITICS.
They first attacked the authority of the New Testament.
But this was happily defended by men equally learned, who
proved the epistles of Paul were genuine and the four gospels
faithful narratives of historical events.
The downgrade critics now attack the Old Testament,
and their chief attacks are directed against Genesis in
particular and the Pentateuch in general. They see in
Genesis the foundation of the Hebrew and Christian
religions, so its authority must be overthrown.
The account of Creation is supposed therefore to be a
“ myth.” Men raised up by God, such as Abraham, Isaac,
Moses, and others, are supposed to be merely poetical
“ heroes.” No proof is given, but their theory requires these
hypotheses. The Bible is said to be only a human pro¬
duction, and the miraculous (history of Israel in the past is
nothing more than poetic fiction and exaggeration.
F. E. Spencer, M.A., well says : — “ It is a strong delusion
which boasts to see no more the glory and the handiwork
of Jehovah in the universe, but only the glory of Copernicus,

and Newton, and Darwin, and others. . . . The fear of God
is gone when there remains no traces of His action.’
The Reason of it All.
There are some who cannot see this, and who, therefore,
give these destructive critics credit not only for honesty, but
lor godliness ! Yet these men attack the Word of God
while the astronomers are secretly undermining men’s faith
in God’s Account of His own Creation. In fact God is being
spirited away as it were both from His Word and His Works.
But we may see that there must be some strong reason
for all this expenditure of time, talent, and force. The
fortress must be something very valuable, or it must contain
something very valuable. Or, on the other hand, the Bible
must be peculiarly obnoxious to the beseiging party and
obstructive to their final aims, to call forth such persistent
and powerful attacks.
The real reason for all the opposition against the Bible
is because it exposes false science which teaches that all
nature is an evolution from embryonic and atomic without
final cause, or any influence from without.
Nature truly includes history, and neither can be
explained apart from the Bible But the aim of the
Bible-opponent is to explain both history and Nature as a
mere evolution, and as the Apostle Paul says : “without God
in the world.”
This, we are persuaded, is the secret of all opposition to
the Word of God, to the Works of God, and to the Providence
of God in the history of His people Israel.
The influence of men who profess to believe God’s
revealed Word, and at the same time promulgate Scripture-
contradicting systems of cosmogony, is very misleading to
the world at large, and their action is leading many to think
there is no God ; or that if there is one He is so far removed
from this mere “ speck of a planet ” that He takes no notice
of what is going on here.
ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS

1. — We know nothing about the energy and Laws of Heavenly things,
nor do we know how the Heavenly Lights appear to every eye all round the
inhabitable world, but their regular movements and other evidences,
including those in the Scriptures, suggest supernal mechanism.
2. — A son may be greater than his father in every way and sense. If
our Lord had not revealed to the contrary, we might have thought that He
was even greater than His Father, but the Lord Jesus Christ said “ My
Father is greater than I,” and He also revealed that He would eventually
give up all rule and authority to His Father, “ that God may be all in all ”
(I. Cor. xv., 28).
3. — “That Solar energy is one of the unsolved 'problems of Astronomy”
are the words of a scientist in his latest astronomical work, and all scientists
admit to the same because it is an undeniable fact.
4. — A telescope with a five-inch lens is advisable and would
cost (new) about £100. The fixed telescope may give the impression
that our World’s Motion is causing the telescope to pass the Lights,
but this is not so. The Lights all travel from east to west. And the
telescope must be moved towards the west to follow any particular
Light or Lights. This also proves that Sun -Light is moving towards the
west, and that our World which is falsely called “ a planet ” has no
motion The fact that astronomical telescopes are often made with one lense
short of the full number of a complete instrument accounts for misleading
appearances.
5. — The prayer which our Lord taught to His disciples as an
example of how they should approach God in an attitude of childlike
simplicity and humility, is commonly called the Lord’s prayer ; but
in that prayer which Jesus Christ offered up to His Father in Heaven
He said “ Thy Word is Truth.” Therefore when God says that our
World is stationary we know without the shadow of a doubt that
it is. The asserted rotation of our “ Earth ” and “ Seas ” is
undemonstrable because it is imperceptible. As Prof. C. Schoepffer
truly states, “ there are no air currents which we can justly regard as
— or even suppose to be — consequences of this rotation.”
6. — -We believe in the promises made to Israel (Isa. lviii. II), and that
they will be fulfilled to all those who humbly seek God’s grace
through Jesus Christ.
7. — How could Moses and the Prophets have described the order of
Creation, and portrayed events in the future which have since occurred,
had these things not been revealed to them, and had not the Holy Spirit
instructed them in these mysteries.
8. — When once the astronomers had adopted the fallacious supposition
that the “ Earth " and “ Seas ” were a planet, they had to invent other equally
fallacious theories to bear out their primary hypothesis, or supposition. If
the World were a star then it had to turn on a supposed “ axis ” to account
for day and night ; and it had also to be given a yearly revolution round their
huge sun-body to account for the various Seasons And so there came about,
the absurd supposition, that our “ Earth,” “ Seas,” Atmosphere & Skies, have
two motions, both going on at the same time ! Not only a diurnal (or daily)
motion of turning round on an axis in the wrong direction for the line of

progress, but a progressive motion in a sort of circle or ellipse round their
sun-body once a year. This is called its annual motion. These two opposing
impulsions or motions are known in so-called scientific language as the
centripetal and centrifugal forces.
9. — The term centripetal comes from words foreign to our language,
meaning centre seeking, or motion which tends towards the centre ; and the
centrifugal comes from two words which mean centre fleeing, or motion
which flees from the centre ; so that centrifugal motion is that which tends
or recedes from the centre. The centrifugal motion, the astronomers tell
us, makes our world want to fly away from its centre of attraction, viz :
their huge far-distant Sun ; and the centripetal motion, they say, makes
their planet fly, or want to fly, directly towards their Sun. And as they say
these two opposing forces both operate at the same time and our World obeys
neither the one nor the other, but makes a sort of compromise and revolves
in a circle, or in an elliptical orbit which is like a circle crushed a little bit
in the middle. And what is the more amazing, we are asked to believe all
this scientific folly without any proof but simply because the globular
theory demands some such supposition or hypothesis to support it.
10. — It is a well-known fact that opposing forces nullify each other, so
to meet this difficulty the theory has been invented that centrifugal force
acts a little bit sideways and thus it causes the centripetal force to move in
a circle. Gravitation — they say — causes the centripetal motion. But
gravitation is a purely imaginary force. And when one enquires what
supplies the force which makes the world seek to fly away from the centre, i.e.,
the centrifugal force — no professor can answer. The great attractive force
in our Enclosed World is supernal Magnetism.
11. — No lecturer could illustrate the motions of the astronomical ball
by tieing a string to an orange and then twirling it round his head. Of
course, the head of the lecturer named represented his sun and the orange
his planet. But I fear there was not much light ! And another difficulty
arises (where there is no string attached to the ball) which astronomers
have never attempted to explain It is this : — If the centrifugal motion is
due simply to initial force, and the centripetal due to a constant and ever
operating power, how is it that the power which is supposed to be always
operating has not yet overcome the force which only once was started, and
that many thousands of years ago, or according to the astronomers many
millions of years ago ?
12 — Disciples of the planet-Earth theory who profess Christianity have
often tried to creep under the Bible’s wing to justify their false position, and
account for the difficulties of the God-contradicting theories which give the
lie to the Creator's Revealed account of His Created Works. Their sun¬
headed lecturer referred to above seems to have used this subterfuge ! The
Creator, in His Written Revelation, discloses that He Created our innate
World in a solid water-dividing “ Firmament ” — not “ space.’’ And further¬
more our World’s Maker has revealed that our World is “ set ” on Pillars of
Earth— also called “Pillars of Heaven.” because our solid “Firmament”
which God called “Heaven” is attached to them — fixed on solid everlasting
foundations firmly, and at rest. But all the motion in our Enclosed World
is within its enclosed precincts — within whose bounds the Lights were
created and made to pass around in the ethereal heavens to divide Time,
and illuminate and resuscitate our World, and all living creatnres and things.
But whirling-globites contradict their Creator, and falsely assert that His
inspired prophets and apostles 'and His Son, Jesus Christ — who endorsed
their words and writings (John v., 46, 47) — were not intended to teach
cosmic science. And these Creator-contradicters promulgate the fabulous
idea that our “ Earth ” and “ Seas ” are a bright planet madly rushing — while

spinning — ronnd and round their huge Sun-bodv in their illimitable
unenclosed “ space ” which they cannot conceive, as unending things are
past mortal conception. The Lord God Jehovah, Creator of “ The Heaven ”
and “ The Earth,” hath revealed to us — i.e., to all His Created creatures —
that “ all things,” visible and invisible, were made by Jesus Christ, “and
without Him was not anything made that was made ” (John i. 13).
The “ planet-Earth ” must sink and fade,
Its “ science ” — false — is sin,
. As “ all thinys ” that exist were made
By Christ our Saviour-King.
—(Col. i. 16 ; Heb. i. 2.)
13. — It would be a false statement if a third “ co-equal ” part of anything
stated that one of the other two “co-equal” parts was greater than itself
(see John xiv. 28 ; x. 29).
14. — Every individual, and every thing beneath the sun is largely
dependent upon the mineral Kingdom for sustenance, comfort, health,
wealth, and civilization, and all life is continually being built up, and
resuscitated by the substances of the earth. In agriculture, in every
description of building, in road, railway, canal, and tunnel construction, in
sinking wells, and all mines : and also in the quest of gold and precious
stones, and in fact, in all purposes of life, the utility of the science of
geology is clearly manifest. And the vegetable world borrows its life from
the earth. To illustrate the positive utility of Geology in a lucid manner
that even a child may understand, I shall (d.v.) present my original chart of
the earth’s geological strata and the fossil remains they contain in
T. E. W., No. 7.
15. — There is a circus of upper clouds at about 20,000 feet, and some
others beneath, under 10,000 feet high. 1760 yards is an ordinary mile. A
Nautical mile is one-sixtieth of a degree measured at the Equator— equal to
about 2025 yards. A degree is the 360th part of a circle, or 60
geographical miles.
16. — If our World was a star spinning on an axis, like a reel on a
pencil at the rate of over 1000 miles an hour at the Equartor, and rushing
on an everlasting tour in everlasting “ space ” round and round, the
astronomer’s 2,646,000-miles-in-circumference-Sun, at 93,000,000 of miles
from it— wind would be so fearful in its force that life on their planet's
surface would be impossible, and it always would be in one direction, and
they could not box the compass as they do from east, west, north, and
south.
17. — The meteorological causes of Thunderstorms are well understood,
but in T.E.W. No. 7, we will reply further on this subject. The causes of
clouds are due to the evaporation of water chiefly from Oceans and Seas by
the heat of the Sun which wraps within the heavens around above the Sea’s
and outstanding Earth’s surfaces. The clouds are carried in different
directions by and with the wind. The vapour condences, and falls as rain,
hail, or snow over districts which are favourable to the condensation of
moisture.
18. — Brighton is 10 miles east of Worthing by road, but not so far by
Sea, and owing to the shape of the coast, Brighton, and the cliffs still further
east, appear almost facing an observer from Worthing sea-shore. But
atmospheric density frequently causes the limitations of a Worthing
observer’s eye-tent to cover so small a circuit that Brighton is excluded far
beyond its bounds.'*'

19. — The co-equality of our Lord Jesus Christ with God the Father and
God’s Holy Spirit is a man-made doctrine, and not in the Bible. The false
co-equal “ Blessed Trinity ” doctrine was probably introduced by men who
divided themselves from the Apostles. But “ Trinity Sunday ” was not
set up by Pope Gregory IV. until A.D. 828 This God and Christ
dishonouring doctrine must have helped the False Prophet to establish his
false position. Because in Mohammed’s “Koran” the entire supremacy
and ONE-ness of the Lord God Jehovah, as taught by the Lord Jesus Christ
and throughout the whole Bible, is strictly maintained.
. 20. — We believe in election and that God has elected men, and women
too, for certain work. The Prophets and Apostles were elected and raised
up and some may be thus elected to-day But Free Grace is offered to all —
to “ Whosoever will.”
21. — The eyes of each man it is certain
Spread out the heavens as a tent,
And they stretch them around as a curtain
By the power that their Maker hath lent !
22. — “ No man knoweth who the Son is but the Father ; and who the
Father is, but the Son.”- — Luke x. 22.
Jesus said — “ the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the
Father.” — John vi. 57.
“ God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost, and with
power ” — Acts x. 38.
“ Him God raised up the third day, and shewed Him openly.” —
Acts x. 40 ; Acts ii 24, 27. And again —
“ The Prince of Life, whom God hath raised from the dead.” — Acts
iii. 15. And numerous other passages reveal the same.
23 — In Christ Jesus, no doubting enshrouds
God’s promises all Saints shall share

STAR - GAZERS’ DELUSIONS.
XET us remember the danger of putting our faith in “An
Arm of Flesh.” The prophet Isaiah warns men not to
trust in “men, and not God,” nor in “flesh, and not
Spirit.” And it was never so necessary that his warning
should be heeded as it is to-day !
The Holy Scriptures reveal that we are living in an
Enclosed World, and that we have been created and placed in
it by our Creator to cultivate the love of Truth and to seek
after it as “ a pearl of great price.” The two great sources
from whence Truth may be found are from God’s written
Word, and from His Created Works. And if we find
anything in perfect harmony with both these, we may know
that it is true.
Xow is it true that the stars are all worlds ? This
assumption has become such an integral part of modern
theoretical astronomy that it is quietly taken for granted.
A Professor of “ Science ” is reported to have said :
“There need lie no hesitancy now in publishing what has been
determined in fact (?) viz.— the burning up of eighteen or more
worlds or stellar bodies. We know (surmise) that they have
disappeared by coming in contact with other bodies in space,
and they are fused into new worlds, which in turn have taken
up their paths through the universe.’’
But when, or by whom, was it proved, “ determined as a
fact” that the stars are worlds; and how have astronomers
got to “know” that eighteen worlds have disappeared
through collisions, and eighteen new worlds come into being.
The Professor gives a hint in the following words as to
how he thinks they have got to know. He says :
“ But now we have come to know that the worlds have been
destroyed by contact with other worlds. That is to say, at least
eighteen new luminous worlds have been observed where none
previously existed.
This is the usual style of astronomical reasoning.
Eighteen fresh luminous spots have been observed in our
Enclosed Hea\’ens, and they assert these are “worlds,”
although the celebrated 18-inch telescope through which the
Professor observed them fails to make more of them than

mere points of light. But they are “worlds,” and not
having been before observed, they must, of course, have
“ lately come into existence ” of themselves.
Every evolutionist knows this, of course. But as they
cannot “come into existence” without the destruction of
other worlds it follows, of course, that eighteen other worlds
must have collided, and been destroyed.
In fact the Professor proceeds :
“ Probably many more worlds have disappeared by collision than
those which we have recorded. This is not a surprising
inference when one considers that already about 300,000,000
stars are mapped, and that doubtless as many more dark bodies
are among them.”
The intelligent reader will notice the words “ probably,”
“ doubtless” and “ inference.” These words figure promi¬
nently in scientific speculations, yet these very speculations
are put forward as the grounds for asserting that the
astronomers “know” that the stars are worlds; and to
describe “ what happens when a world is destroyed ” ! Such
speculations tend to undermine all belief in the inspired
account of Creation, as given in the Word of God.
When unknown Stars appear in view,
Star-Gazers call them “Worlds,” and “new.”
They may be “ new,” or may be old ;
But this to man God has not told ;
And mortal eye-bounds have revealed,
The Nature of Heav'v s Lights is sealed !
Yet these extravagant speculations are quoted even in
religious papers !
The editors of many religious publications decline to
allow Bible Cosmogony in their papers, but open their
columns willingly ' to the extravagant fallacies of modern
astronomy.
It is a sad and suggestive state of affairs when professed
Christian editors have more faith in such so-called “science’’
than they have in the plain statements of the Word of God.
The Bible teaches that the Sun and the Moon Lights were
not created until the Fourth Day of Creation Week, yet Pro¬
fessor IX says ; “the Sun, which probably came into existence as

the result of a collision, has been cooling off and diminishing
in height and light for thousands of years”; and further,
that 11 if a planet like the earth, or a bright star, should run
into it, the earth and the whole solar system would burn up
in a few minutes. As I, for one, have never seen the dirty
mud of city streets shining like “a bright star.” nor even
the distant hills out in the country, 1 am not alone in
thinking there is little danger of our earth “ running into
their Sun, which they say is 93,000,000 miles away.
The Apostle Peter says that when the earth is purified
by fire, that fire will come from the interior of the earth
itself ; so that it will not be brought about by a so-called
“ collision.” But the above-mentioned Professor, who flatly
contradicts the Word of God, little knows that he could find
pearls of Truth and Wisdom in the plain statements of that
Word in relation to true Cosmical Knowledge — and the
sublime revelation that God has magnified “ His Word above
His Name.
Concerning the “new” star, Nova Perseii, which appeared
in the constellation of that name in the year 1898, Prof. D.
says : This star shone very brightly for a short time, and
then diminished in lustre until it became quite faint ; relating
to this, and the Sun, he says :
“ We are eight light minutes from the Sun, 93,000,000 of miles by
actual measurement. Now Nova Perseii appeared in the
heavens, and I looked at it through a telescope. I was about
100 years behind the times. The collision, you see, though
news to me was ancient history. It really took place 100 years
ago, for the light from the collision that gave birth to that world
to reach my telescope now. I incline to the belief that worlds
are destroyed by direct collisions.”
This paragraph is full of assumptions and errors, and
what is worse it has been endorsed by professed Christians !
In fact, there are statements made which are not simply
errors, but downright untruths. For instance, the
Professor says that the sun’s distance from the earth is
“ 93,000,000 miles by actual measurement.” Now as
the astronomers, from the time of Copernicus to the
present time, have differed in their conclusions respecting
the sun’s distance by more than 90,000,000 miles, therefore,
where does the “actual measurement” come in? And

whose measurement was it that was “ actual,” while all the
other various and conflicting measurements made by
astronomers were only fanciful ? And, again, what must be
the folly of “believing ” that a conflagration can be seen 100
years after it has taken place.
But this astronomer says the news reached him 100
years after the event! And it reached him “ through the
telescope” ! If so, the telescope has misled him for once at least.
His idea came to him from a more occult source than through
a long tube with some pieces of glass inserted in it.
It is time that Christians were aware that such teachings
come not from God but from men who have not only no
faith in God’s Revealed Word, but who are conspiring
towards its overthrow.
Thinking men ought really to be ashamed to own such
things. Let such fancies as are applied to theoretical
astronomy be applied to the events of daily life and we
should see their folly. We are told that “a new world”
springs forth of itself from the collision of “ two or more old
worlds.” But Sight-limitation alone exposes the fallacy of
such an idea !
No man can stretch the eye-line’s length, which is the
same in all directions. And that the added distance
reached by a telescope is very moderate is proved by its
horizontal reach.
And all men see beyond eve-bounds
Is seen alone on guessing grounds.
But this is but a single instance of the delusions of one
Star-Gazer, whose God-contradicting and absurdly deli s re
“inferences” are believed by a large portion of our world
(including Christians).
ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS,
24. — In my new book, “ The Secrets of Nature Exhumed,”
I do not assert that our world is an egg, but far more like
an egg at rest than “ a flying orange.” And again, I use
the term “ egg-world” to remind my reader of the fact that

cmr world la enclosed In its solid firmament — even as the
contents of an egg are enclosed within its shell— and to
annul the false idea of illimitable space.
25. — In May, 1904, I conceived a mode of experiment to
ascertain if water was level by photographing a 15ft. sq. sheet
hung directly above a straight canal in Norfolk G miles from
the sheet’s position. The operator had to lie close above the
water on a platform I had made, touching the canal’s surface.
The photographer took my photograph to London to develop
it and I went to the Isle of Wight, where I was due to give a
lecture the next evening. Just as I rose to speak, a telegram
was handed up to me on the platform from Dalmeyer, (my
photographer) of Oxford Street, London saying the sheet,
and its reflection beneath it in the water, were in the picture !
What did this prove ? That that canal was level, as are all
canals without locks. “ Parallax ” had made experiments on
the same canal of a different character many years before and
had reported its water to be level. Not only may canals be
found practically level, but also lakes, and rivers, and inland
seas.
The basins of our Earth with edges bevel
Hold horizontal Waters flat, and level.
Furthermore, it is possible that the surface of some main
Seas may be practically level — i.e., with little or no bulge.
When wre remember that both Atmosphere and Water are
flexible, either temporary or permanent supernal pressural
influence from beyond the Skies may affect the shape of
extensive areas of our vast Oceans. Without revelation
from their Creator, their exact contour cannot be ascertained.
But we know pretty accurately their surfacial size, ana that
we can pass round them circumferentially.
26. — By my photograph I have given evidence that the
canal I photographed is level — which its maker well knew !
But the relative distances of our Continents and Islands, the
Facts of Navigation, the shape of the Skies, and lastl}', but of
all importance — Bible statements prove that the “ Seas ” are
bound around, and entirely surrounded by the atmosphere
we breathe, which is again surrounded by Skies which end
our vision. The Land in our World is within the centric
“ Seas,” and it was only our outstanding continents and
islands of Dry Land that God called ‘‘Earth.” I repeat, it
was not the wet Lanp, but the Dry Land God called “ Earth.”

27. — A cursory glance at the pamphlet given with your
(“ A Friend’s ”) kind letter reveals that I had neither seen
nor heard of it before ! The quotations of which it is made
up are not adaptable apart from the foregone conclusion
that “ Parallax ”-ism is in harmony with the known Facts
of Nature and the Bible conjoinedly. And it is waste of
time, money and space to quote my experiments in supjrort
of the flat earth, because I have explained horv not only
man-constructed canals made without locks may be level,
but also some of our natural Lakes and Seas. And apart
from this fact, my photographic experiment on the “ Bedford
Level Canal” (N.B. — named “level” by its constructors)
only proves that that water is level, and not that all Seas are
consequently so. The writer of this pamphlet prints wrong
conclusions.
LECTURE ON SPIRITISM.

TOURING the past century the increase of “Spiritualism ”
■ZL' portends (in my opinion) that the Second Advent of
the Lord Jesus Christ, and the end of our present
dispensation are not very far distant. This occult phe¬
nomenon, which should more correctly be called Spiritism
or Demonism, has increased very rapidly in two senses, viz.,
in development and in its spread. The chief agents and
motive powers of Spiritism are “ Seducing Spirits,” and
these, we are distinctly warned b}r the Lordls “chosen
vessel,” Paul, will cause some to “fall away from the faith ”
through “giving heed ” to them in these latter times. This
ancient prophecy is now at the present moment being-
fulfilled.
Evil “seducing spirits” impersonate the dead, and
daringly masquerade, not only as men’s departed friends,

but even as the Son of God Himself ! Let us, therefore,
earnestly endeavour to discern the nature of these “evil
spirits” and then prayerfully attempt to oxpose their
methods and reasons for seducing mankind.
That those spirits are not those of our departed friends
is evident to Christians, who have any powers of reasoning.
For those wh > claim that demons are the spirits of wicked
men who have gone to hell (i.e., “eternal torment.”} forget
that it would necessitate such to have power of escaping
therefrom, before they could manifest themselves to tlieir
friends. And on the other hand, it could not possibly be a
state of rest, or a happy condition of the Redeemed in
Christ if they were simply hanging about awaiting the beck
and call of some mortal “ medium” — for the purpose of saying
a few common-place words to their friends who are still in
the flesh, with all its sin and suffering.
Personally, I should regard the latter as a state of
monotonous misery that might be designated as a sort of
eternal torment. But according to God’s sure promises
Redemption will mean something very different to this de¬
grading idea !
“ It is written,” Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither
hath it entered into the heart of man the things which God
hath prepared for them that love Him (I. Cor. ii. 9). Then
again, the common explanation does not account for the
power that controls the “ medium.” To me it is doubtless
that the demons — manifested in spiritism — are the disem¬
bodied spirits of the offspring of the Angels who sinned in
the days of Noah by taking mortal wives against God’s
command.
The result of their illicit union were giants, who were
born of immortal fathers and mortal mothers.
The fathers were cast down to Tartarus and there de¬
livered into chains of darkness to be reserved unto judgment.
The mothers, who were the beautiful daughters of men,
perished in the Flood with their God-forbidden offspring
whose disembodied spirits became wandering demon spirits
of the Satanic host, for, as we shall eventually see, the fall of
those Angels was the leading factor in a deep satanic
scheme to frustrate the Divine Plan of Redemption, which
God ordained before the world “ was.” But, nevertheless,
the frustrator was frustrated ! For we are told that the Lord
in His resurrected body went and made proclamation to
those fallen Angels in prison.

These “sons of God,” were suffering for tlieir dis¬
obedience, and in the words of Dr. E. W. Bullinger in “ How
to enjoy the Bible,” “ they took part in a gigantic Satanic
plot to corrupt and distroy the whole human race. Satan’s
object was to frustrate the council of God, in respect to the
great promise and prophecy that the Seed of the woman
should come into the world at the appointed time and finally
crush the head of the old Serpent (Gen. iii. 15). Satan
having as yet no clue as to the time when ‘ the Seed of
the woman ’ should come into the world, his first effort was
to corrupt and distroy the whole human race. This he
carried out as described in Gen. vi. and Jude 6th verse.”
“The sons of God” were Angels; “the Angels who
sinned.” All beings who are the direct creation of God are
called “sons.” Adam was “a son of God ” (Gen. v. 1;
Luke iii. 38).
All families, except Noah’s family, were tainted with
this uncanny and unholy breed called the “ Nephilim.”
Noah was tamim, i.e., without blemish. Satan’s plot would
have succeeded but for the direct interposition of Divine
judgment, and Noah’s faithfulness ; and consequently “ the
Seed of the woman ” ultimately came into the world, and
satan’s agents, who had taken part in that daring plot, had
to learn that the designs of their master had failed !
Christ, the Son of God, having conquered satan and
death, He descended into the heart of the earth and
“proclaimed ” His victorious Redemptional Triumph. This
is the Triumph referred to in Col. ii. 14-15, where having
“spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them
openly, triumphing over them in it.”

I entirely agree with your expositions of known facts, and regard
them to be uniquely valuable as builders of Faith in God and His Son,
Jesus Christ, through their perfect harmony with our five Senses, as well as
the world's whole phenomena. That section of your book under the head¬
ing of “ Universal Phenomenal Deductions ” is also fascinatingly true, and
is a clear exposition of hypothetical fallacies which are but too often
enthroned on pedestals of truth.
Illimitable space is the essence of fallacy. The truth of your stanza
on this point is self-evident when you say : —
Eternal, everlasting “ Space,”
No man could comprehend ;
Nor one conceive of mortal race —
Time, “ Space,” and all things end !
And again —
Eternal ‘‘Space,” or aught else without end
No mortal brain could ever comprehend ;
As God ordained, and as in nature found,
All endless mortal things must curve around.
All your stauzas speak forth truth and your every line set forth in
pr-.se and verse in this book I agree with, with all my mind. And
regarding Sight-Limitation. I endorse your stated facts thereon most
emphatically. You are setting forth the truth when you state that all man’s
Senses are equally limitated in every direction, including liis Sight. Why
should Sight-Sense stretch further in one direction than another? It is
impossible that we can see further vertically than we can horizontally- As
you say —
Where’er a man’s horizon be,
Not one yard further can he see.
His horizontal line of sight
Is equal to its length upright.
And all men see beyond eve-bounds
/■ Is seen alone on guessing grounds.

THE WORLD WE LIVE IN.
Indoctrination from childhood in the far-fetched fabulous
idea that we are living on a planet in the Skies affects
men’s and women’s Senses and weakens their Reasoning
faculties during their growth, and begets an appetite for
fiction, with a counter distaste for simple Truth. And also
breeds indifference and contempt for the Word of the Living
God.
The greater majority of mortals belonging to the
civilised world are trained to think very lightly of setting
aside the Cosmogony of the Bible for that;, of man’s invention.
And they entirely pass over the Creator’s account of His
Created Works given through Moses, which the Christ (by
whom “ All Things — in our World — were • made ”) endorsed.
But the fascination of fiction rises so high above the love of
truth that even clerics deem it a sin, or a sign of madness,
to doubt that our world is a luminous star.
It is an astounding thing that preachers of nearly every
Christion sect, with their Bibles ever before their eyes, lead
the world to discard the Divine Cosmical Revelation of the
Holy Scriptures, while at the same time they point to the
same Scriptures and ask men to place their faith in God’s
promises of Salvation through Jesus Christ which they
contain. And, apart from the Scriptures they must well
know that they themselves could obtain no knowledge of
their Creator and His Son, as there is no other source of
Divine Truth and Spiritual Enlightenment within our world.
But almost every wayside preacher is aware that neither

the professors of modern cosmic “ science ” now living, nor
its founders, ever turned to the Word of our World’s Creator
for their data, because they could find nothing therein but
opposition to their ideas. And the only explanation the
professed upholders of the Bible offer for their disbelief of
the Creator’s Revealed Cosmogony is that “ the Bible was
never intended to teach Cosmic Science.” But this hackneyed
statement is absolutely untrue.
The True Cosmogony of our World is the first subject,
written not only on the first page of the Divine Record, and
all visible phenomena, but it is interwoven in their every
feature, and God-ordainedly forms the First Lesson and the
very basis of our Spiritual Enlightenment and Religious
Education for Eternity.
Reader, don’t “ Wait and see,” but ojten your Bible, and
look and see, that our World’s Creation is the theme of its
opening Words of Revelation, showing how God and Jesus
Christ “ Created ” and “ Made ” the World in which we live.*
Two minutes will expose, even to the man in the street,
that the Bible is intended by its Author and our Creator to
reveal to us the true origin and nature of our universe.
And it is self - evident that the Bible and man’s modern
so-called “ science ” are so directly opposed to each other
that they cannot possibly be held together in the same
mind, and that the man who thinks he believes both
probably knows very little of either, and certainly he is
practically ignorant of one or the other. No wonder that
whirling-globe “science” is deemed too deep for the great
majority of human minds to receive! Yea, it is “deep,”
and its depths have been dug by the enemy to undermine
man’s faith in the Creator’s Word. And it is doubtless that
men have been unwittingly used in this deep work ! But if
Christian men and women will only open their eyes to the
fact that a system of education is being taught in our schools,
presenting things distinctly opposed to each other as both
emanating from the God of Truth, they will surely rise tip
against so great a wrong !
The Bible cannot be believed unless it is known. And
knowledge of it cannot be possessed unless it is carefully and
prayerfully studied, and continually used as daily food for
the mind, which is as necessary as daily bread for the human
body.
“ Man shall not live alone by bread, but every word that
God hath said ” (Matt, iv., 4 ; Deut. viii., 3).

Then why reject the First Words in G-od’s Holy Book ?
And why reject God’s Holy Book’s First Subject, which
is His Creation Truth ?
The Bible, which is the only Divinely scientific Book,
was written by Moses, and the Prophets, and Apostles, who,
being “moved by the Holy Ghost,” acted as pens and mouth¬
pieces of the Deity. The Holy Scriptures contain what the
Creator deems necessary that His creatures shall know. And
He requires all men to study them daily. Ho other book could
be read daily from youth to age with profit but God’s Word,
which is the source of all Truth — wherever it exists.
The best system of Christian education would be to
train the pupil to use his own God-given Senses, and to knoiv
and love God’s Word and Works.
The man who’s educated well will ne’er feign to believe
What he don’t understand — nor swell the throng who thus deceive !
It is a notable fact that the conjunction of error with
Truth mars Truth’s progress, but nevertheless the false
planet-theory of our World and the Bible are conjointly
presented to the young, the thoughtless, and the world at
large, as being conjoinedly true : and thus God’s Word is
sown intermingled with error in every Infant School, and
College of every class and kind and stage of advancement ;
and in nearly every Christian pulpit of every sect ;
“ The Clergy ” think the “ whirling globe ” a tit-bit of reliance,
And use it just to flavour up their sermons with some science ;
But Logic asks Why they eschew the Scriptures true for fables new.
Yes, scientific parsons oft dilate on endless “ space,”
And hoie their “ planet-Earth ” (and Sea) around their huge sun race
But where’s God’s Heaven ? I pray them tell — •
And theirs as well ? and where’s their Hell ?
The globite parson’s Heaven must fly in “ space ” around his sun,
“ Above ” his globe— while it “ beneath ” by “ axial ” force is spun !
But no man born of Adam’s race could know or trace Eternal “ space.”
The ancient Roman Catholic Church believed in and
defended the Mosaic account of Creation. But its modern
popes could not maintain their defence on the basis of the
horizontality of water, because the more the true nature of
our World's Facts became known, the more certain became
the shape of our main “Seas’” and “Earth’s” surfaces.
And although honour may be due to a few cardinals and
popes (including Urban VIII.) for their opposition of a
“science falsely so-called” which opposed the Bible’s True
Cosmogony. Nevertheless it was neither given to them nor
to their successive representatives of the Church of Rome to

harmonise the Facts of Nature with the Bible. Therefore
they found it impossible to satisfactorily maintain their
position as temporal and spiritual educationalists while
sailing as anti-globites.
So a pope and his bishops in a long confab sat
And they tried hard to roll out their planet-Earth Flat.
But one of the wily ones said, “ Its not that” !
“ We must cease to oppose.”
So they left the Truth to fall !
The Bible account of Creation is nevertheless absolutely
true ! But modern “ science ” is a thing of “ uncertain
sound ” and “ unknown quantity.”
According to one kind of very modern “ science,” called
“ Christian Science,” Matter does not exist ! And another
kind of rather modern sciencet is based on the theory that
all Matter once floated in atoms wide roaming through
“ space,” and something which Newton called “ universal
gravitation ” pulled the atoms together from a central point,
and the sun thus evolved itself ! And the “ Earth-planet ”
(this kind of “ science ” asserts) was “ a cinder shot out from
the sun,” and evolved and rounded itself into an Earth — (and
“Seas”) — “globe,” or “planet” while spinning. And the
stars evolved themselves in like manner. But we ask —
Who saw those “ Atoms” roaming in illimitable “space”?
And further back gaze o’er eternity’s maze what before
was “ universal gravity ” doing ?
But some present-day professors of modern science are
opposed to Kant and Laplace’s “Nebular Hypothesis,’’ and
they assert that their 2^anet-Earth-and-Seas-globe came into
existence in a different manner. For instance, in a new
scientific work entitled, “ The Earth : Its Genesis and
Evolution,” the author, who does not claim to introduce any¬
thing new, and merely professes to give “ an account of the
geological history of our planet,” asserts that it formed itself
by sedimentary cycles. But this professor very strongly
denounces the “ Nebular Hypothesis.” We ask again : —
Who saw those so-called “ cycles,” which really mean
imaginary orbits in the heavens ? No one !

And who saw that sediment sink in the revolving liquid
to form the “ Earth’s ” various stratum ? No one !
Therefore, it is a case of “ the pot calling the kettle
black ” ! But these “ scientific ” theories are all equal in
the sense that they are all Scripturally untrue. But it is a
bad fix to be in, in either case ! Not an iota of evidence
could possibly be found to uphold either of these men’s
theories of “ planetary genesis.” In fact, in neither of these
astronomer’s hypothetical ideas is there one raj’ of hope of
the possibility that a mortal soul could be dug up to attest
to the veracity of either the “Nebulous Hypothesis” or
the “ sedimentary cycles ” to account for our World’s
“ Genesis and Evolution.” This would be impossible
because no mortal existed, as in the case of the latter theory
its upholder asserts that our planetary system (which includes
their sun) may have commenced in a gaseous fog and passed
through many stages of evolution, and may have returned
again to nebular ; then a new cycle of operations may have
commenced where the last one originated. But both these
theories are entirely contradictory to the Creator’s Word,
which reveals that God made our World in Six Days by
Jesus Christ nearly 6,000 years ago. But although our
Creator brought Light on the surface of “ The Waters ”
in whose midst our Enclosed World was created to make the
First Day, God did not create our sun and moon “ Lights ”
until the 4th Day of Creation Week. And all the
claims of Geology can be met by showing that the
“ Land ” which was brought into our Enclosed World within
the “ divided Waters ” was part of “ The Earth ” which its
Creator created in shapely form “ in the Beginning ”
(probably many millions of years in the past) ; but it had
become without form and void through its inundation in
“The Waters.”
The supernal Divisional Lighting, Heating, and Life-
Force System of the sun and moon were made by the Son
of God on the 4th Day of Creation Week especially for and
icithin our Enclosed World. Therefore neither of these
kinds of modern “ science ” can find any divine support or
endorsement from the divine Cosmical Revelation, which
forms so important a feature of God’s Word. Alas ! it is
evident that globe-scientists can have little knowledge of the
Bible’s extreme value. But Christians should know that the
Scriptures are as reliable in their account of the Creation of
our World as they are in setting forth Life and Re-Creation
in and through Jesus Christ, who under His Father’s
directions, was its Maker ! John i. 3 ; and xiv. 31,

The Editor is thankful, thei'efore, that God’s Word
affords a reliable account of the origin and nature of
our Enclosed World, with undeniable evidence of the date
of its beginning, and points to many witnesses who were
present at its Creation when “ all the Sons of God shouted for
joy” (Job xxxviii. 7). And, as above stated, by the exposition
of facts relating to our “ Earth ” (God called the dry land
“Earth ”) and the wet land beneath our “ Seas,” (the gathering
together of the “ divided ” Waters unto one place God called
“ Seas,”) we can fully account for the known Facts and Finds
of Geologists ; and satisfactorily explain their “ pre-historic ”
findings in the various stratum of our “ Earth,” submerged
“ Land,” and “ Seas,” by supplying pre-historic data.
The “ pre-historic data ” above referred to reveals know¬
ledge of things prior to our Enclosed World’s existence. And,
apart from this, true science and known facts clash with
God’s Holy Word — as also do “ Parallax’s ” Flat “ Earth ”
and Flat Seas. And all true Christians and Jews who
endeavour to uphold both the Whirling Globe theory and
the Six Literal Days Work of Creation Week are practically
in the same position, through other errors !
The denial of Geology is simply the denial of Facts :
and it would be far more reasonable and sensible to insist
that a person SO years old had attained that age in five
minutes than to deny the Facts of Nature or the Facts of
Nature’s Creator's Word.
“Parallax’s” initial error — which necessitated its
followers to believe in the divergence of degrees of longitude
south of the equator — engendered many false ideas ! Never¬
theless, “Parallax” and his disciples — few as they were —
appear to have been admirable in that they were willing to
say (as it were), black teas white, in their zeal to uphold the
Bible.
But in “The Secrets of Nature Exhumed” the Ed. has
harmonised the Facts of Nature with the Bible, and shown
how necessary it is for these to be in perfect concord if the
Truth, in its every flower and bud, is to form a perfect
bouquet. And Reason itself testifies that every atom of
Revealed Knowledge is necessary unto this end. Therefore,
by conjoining forgotten or rejected portions of our Creator’s
Revelation with undeniable Facts, we obtain the true
Cosmogony of our Enclosed World.

LECTURE ON SPIRITISM,

The Spirit speaketh expressly — “ that in the latter times
some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing
spirits, and doctrines of devils.” And these Spirits
dissemble to be the departed relations and friends of the
living for the express purpose of seducing the souls of
Christians from God by making them believe that which is
false. The wandering spirits are the offspring of the Angels
who sinned against God by taking to themselves wives who
were the daughters of men.
The offspring from this unholy union also afforded satan
suitable instrumental agents for that great apostasy whose
primal object was the corruption of all women then living
and thus to frustrate the divine mandate that the woman’s
seed should bruise the serpent’s head. But as I have already
remarked, this satanic plot proved a failure. The giants who
were the offspring of both Mortal and immortal parents — are
probably the wandering disembodied evil spirits of whom we
read in the Holy Scriptures ?
Both the Old and the New Testaments abound with
information respecting the disembodied spirits, and how they
wrere ever seeking to inhabit bodies. And the warnings
against them are numerous : and especially are we to be
warned in these latter days.
It is doubtless that these are the spirits that at the
present time inhabit suitable mortals -who are now called
“ mediums,” who yield themselves up to be “ indwelt.”
The possession of a familiar spirit is the necessary
qualification a “medium” must have to enable an
invisible spirit-intelligence to hold him or her under control.
The spirits evidently operate similarly to a mortal mesmerizer.
The “ seducing spirits of the Giants,” (or Nephilim)
who lived before the flood, have been deceiving the heathen
nations all through the Ages, and in these latter days they are
(as prophecied in I. Tim. iv. 1.) deceiving Christians of
various Nationalities by inpersonating the dead friends of
those who disobey the inspired injunction set forth in the I.
Peter v. 8 and other passages by giving heed to them.

To the Christian Bible Student two things relating to
spiritism are obvious ; — viz, 1st, that the phenomena are
real ; 2nd, that its nature and effect are distinctly evil and
opposed to both the Will, and the Word of God. Also Bible
opponents and modern scrutinisers of the most critical type
have been forced to admit the fact that the phenomena of
spiritism are a reality.

28. — Jews, as well as Christians, should know that our
World is not a star in endless “ space,” but that our innate
world — including the Sun and Moon Lights and the Stars —
was created in an Enclosed Firmament (which God called
“ Heaven ”) “ in the Midst of The Waters ” (Gen. i. 6 & 14).
29. — We deny, 1st, that our “ Earth ” (Dry Land) and
“ Seas ” are “ a planet ” ; 2nd, that the Sun and Moon Lights
are two huge bodies ; 3rd, that illimitable “ space ” exists ;
and, 4th, that we can see further vertically than horizontally.
30. — The Flat Earth, and Flat “ Seas,” are not in the
Bible.
31. — Bad calculists are poor Reasoners, but keen
quibblers !
32. — Darkness may possibly have caused the Old

y || LL man-made cosmogonies begin with “ chaos,” which
I I means disorder ; and forms the basis of the Scripture-
contradicting doctrine of evolution. Science means
Knowledge. Therefore it is what we know, not what we
think. But nevertheless, “ the Planet-Earth,” which is only
a theory, is called “ science,” and handed to the world
conjoinedly with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the
medium of nearly every educational system, and pulpit.
Modern Cosmic “ science ” flatly contradicts the Mosaic
account of Creation which the Son of God endorsed when He
said : —
“ Had ye believed Moses, ye would believe Me, for
he wrote of Me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall
ye believe my words.” (John v., 46-47).
“All things were made by Him (Jesus Christ), and
without Him was not anything made that was made.”
Apart from the Creator’s Revelation, man really knows
nothing whatever about either our World’s origin or what
was before it. And it is evident that all false cosmical
theories have arisen through God-forgetting and Scripture-
ignorant individuals having unwittingly set up their own
explanations of unrevealed things beyond the Skies which
their Creator has sealed from the eyes and minds of all His
human creatures. But every man and woman in every

Christian country should be thoroughly instructed in the
Holy Scriptures from childhood, and taught in no superficial
way that their Creator created all things both visible and
invisible by Jesus Christ. And also that God Himself
placed His Word above His Works. In Gen. i. 1, the
Creator reveals His Creation of “ The Heaven ” (His Throne)
and “ The Earth ” (the Primal World). And the words
employed — few as they are — denote that all was order, perfec¬
tion, and beauty. As the late Dr. E. W. Bullinger pointed
out the word “Create ” has the foregoing as its root meaning,
and in an article which he wrote expressly for the writer of
this, he says that “ the very word cosmos, from which we have
cosmogony, means the same and more ; for again and again
it is actually rendered “ ornament .”
See Ex. 33 : 4-6 ; Isa. 49 : 18 ; Jer. 4 : 30 ; Ezek. 7 :
20, and “adorning” Pet. iii. 3. But eventually the
“ World that then was perished” beneath “ The Waters,” *
and became shapeless, and “ void ; ” — “ And darkness was
upon the face of the waters.”
“It is not a continuation of the statement of Gen. i. I, but a revelation
of an event which took place. The Hebrew has no verb “ to be, ” hence
where this verb substantive is meant it is always (in the A V) represented
by italic type. But here the verb the Earth “ was ” is not in italics,
because it is the verb Haijali, which means to become or to come to pass.
Again and again it is used in this sense.
Hence in Gen. 1. 2, it means “And the earth became tohu and bohu."
Now whatever tohu and bohu may mean is not here our point. The
expression means all that is implied by desolution and emptiness. The
important fact is that it was not created tohu and bohu but it BECAME so.
This is not a matter of opinion but of fact and revelation. In Isa. xlv.
18, the expressions are heaped together to impress us with the fact that the
speaker ought to know what He is speaking about. This is what is written :
“ Thus saith the Lord which created The Heaven : God Himself that
formed The Earth and made it : He hath established it, Be created it not
TOHU.” E.W.B., D.D.
If we believe the Creator’sf Word, and also the evidence
of our God-given Senses : we shall perceive that “The Earth ”
which God created “In the Beginning” was not created
tohu, but it became so. We are told how it became bohu,
( shapeless and void), viz., by water-inundation. But the reason
why “ The Earth ” was submerged, or when its submersion
“ Thf Waters ” of Gen. 1.2; in whose “ Midst our World was
Made, and from which our “ Seas ” were divided, are referred to as “The
Waters ” in this article.

occurred, has been withheld : as also is the date of its creation.
But it is revealed that God enclosed our innate World in a
Water-dividing “ Firmament” in the midst of “ The Waters”
and set it upon Pillars of “ The Earth ” on solid foundations
beneath them and it. God also brought Light upon the surface
of the Dark Waters in whose “ Midst ” our Enclosed World
was created, to make the First Day of The Week. And further¬
more it is revealed that “ The Heavens ” icere of old, and
“ The Earth.” And the latter stood out of “the Waters”
beneath “ The Heavens ” and in The Waters: and “being
overflowed by Water, it 'perished .”
But “The Heavens” which were “of old ” above the
face (or surface) of “ The Waters ” (in whose “ Midst ” our
Enclosed World was Created in Six Literal Days approaching
6,000 years ago) did not also perish ; although Light and
Life-sustenance evidently ceased to issue from them during
the world’s dissolution — and “The Waters’ face” or surface
above the Old World’s Earth that was buried beneath it was
in darkness until the Creator said — “ Let there be Light.”
It is foretold, however, that our “ Heaven ” (or
Firmament which God Created to Divide “ The Waters” on
Creation Week’s Second Day) shall “pass away,” and its
“elements shall melt with Fervent Heat ! ” Peter states that
“ The Heavens and the Earth which are now by the same
Word are kept in store, reserved unto fire.'" “ And the
heavens being on fire shall be dissolved ” (II. Peter iii.).
We should note that the “ Lights ” which ice see in our
Skies were created within our Enclosed World on the Fourth
Day of Creation Week — not only for “ Lights,” and to convey
other Life-forces to each mortal within the limited bounds of
each one’s own eye-formed domain, but also as a Time-
dividiug-System to divide all Time from moments to Ages.
And they formerly formed Signs to express God’s Will in the
Skies before His Word was written on Earth. But all
things “ in the Beginning,” including the Creation of “ The
Earth,” of “the World that then was,” and “The Heaven”
(God’s abode), and “ The Waters,” and everything outside our
Enclosed World, doubtlessly existed long prior to it, and all
it contains, including its Time-divisional system.
And with respect to things which existed before our
World’s Creation, and outside its Enclosed bounds, we can
only conceive, or refer to their beginnings, periods or intervals
as though they were under the same regime of Time as that
which God, by Jesus Christ, has created in His Lighting

System within the circular “ Heaven ” of our Enclosed
World.”
This point, if duly considered, will afford a good view of
the falsity of modern “ science’s ” chaotic basis relating to its
Earth’s beginning : and it will expose how intensely
modern astronomy opposes the Holy Word of the Creator !
The following short quotation from a new Astronomical
work will give a small example of man’s evolutionary
contradictions of his Creator’s Word !
The writer says : — “ The evolution of the earth (meaning
Earth and Seas ) commences with data from the stars. (!)
The Earth is but a unit of the Solar system, which is but a
single system among systems.” This is directly opposed to
the Bible ! The writer then speaks of “ the sun’s evolution.”
and admits the Fact that Solar energy is one of the unsolved
problems of Astronomy. This is true ! As when God made
Two great Lights on the Fourth Day (not necessarily two
huge bodies but “ Two Great Lights” in the same sense as
electricity and gas are two distinct lights), the Creator did
Not reveal anything to us (His Created Creatures) as to the
Source or Nature of their Supernal Energy — But the date of
their birth (as above named) is given in the 14tli ver. of Gen.
1. All Christians and Jews should hnow I repeat “ know ”
that our visible Lights — which pass through each mortal’s
eye-tent daily — within the inhabitable World — are not yet
6000 years old. And that they were Made after all other
inanimate things within our Enclosed World had been made,
including the Water-dividing “ Firmament ” which God
called “ Heaven,” which He Made to divide “The Waters”
containing our World’s Land from “ The Waters,” from
which they were divided.
When the Creator “ In the Beginning ” Created “ The
Heaven” (His Throne) above, He Created “The Earth” beneath
which was eventually submerged. And He made our
Firmament (which He called “Heaven”) in the Midst of
“ The Waters” wherein “The Earth” was. And the divided
Waters and Land which were beneath the Firmament God
gathered together unto one place in the midst of the atmos¬
phere surrounded by Skies within the Firmament. And God
Made the Dry Land “ appear ” standing out above the Seas,
to form our continents and islands, which He called Earth,
and made our Trees, and all Vegetation before He Made our
supernal Sun and Moon Lighting-System, which comprehended
the “ Lights ” in the Skies as seen by every human eye within

its limited bounds. But although the supernal Lighting-
System which is within our World may be supplied from
outside its enclosed precincts, it should nevertheless be
remembered that the Creator first brought Light upon the
surface of “The Waters” in whose midst He afterwards
created our Enclosed World.
Bible Cosmogony conjoined with the evidences of our
whole world’s phenomena, proves that the Old World was
larger than ours, and that “ it perished ” beneath dark waters.
We have the last-named fact before our eyes in the
appearance of our stratified Earth, and in its condition and
contents, which shows it to be a divided part of the Old
World out of whose Dust Adam was Made, and unto which
all mortals bodies must return after death. And thus it is
evident that our mortal bodies emanate from, and have ever
been, and are now built up by, and of, the subsisting material
which formed The (primal) Earth. And from our Creator’s
adorable Word of Revelation to us — His grateful creatures —
and from all visible phenomena, we know “ The Earth” became
“without form and void” (i.e., shapeless and unoccupied);
the cause of which was probably due to long suspension of
both animal and vegetable Life-Binding and Sustaining
Forces such as the “Lights” of our “Heavens” via their
Rays — convey to each living creature, and thing, existing in
our inhabited World. And we know that the material of the
primal “ Earth” subsisted after its inundation in water had
caused its deformation from its primal shapely contour : as
also the remaining tissue of the skeletons of the Old World’s
once living inhabitants which have been exliumed from our
present Enclosed World’s Land and Waters bear certain
evidence. And these things prove that within the God-
divided Waters, divided Land from the primal world was also
parted off into our World by the Water-dividing “Firma¬
ment ” which its Creator Created and called “ Heaven.”
And Nature herself speaks when she presents huge
skeletons of creatures of various descriptions and other things
to the exhumer which have long been buried in our “ Earth,”
“ Land,” and “ Seas.”
These exhumed discoveries, which include the remains
of various immense reptiles, trees, and vast vegetation, etc.,
distributed everyivhere at different depths beneath the
surfaces of our World’s Earth and Waters are unknown and
entirely foreign to the Adamic Race. And this is evidenced
by their natures and sizes, which proves that they originally

grew in an ever equal climate, without Seasons, which may
be described as continual summer of higher temperature than
the periodic summers of our Enclosed World. And plants,
similar to our coal measures, have been discovered 20° from
the Pole : and (judging from the earth’s visible testimony)
the geologist asserts that “ the temperature of the whole
world seems to have been the same, as from the Equatorial
regions up to the Melville Islands in the Arctic Ocean, the
same species (now extinct) are found in equal development.”
And “ extraordinary geographical distribution of the floras
in Relative Unity lie all over the face of the earth.”
One writer on geology, speaking of “ the carboniferous
epoch,” quotes “ The Impressions left upon the roofs of the
mines after the removal of the seams of coal,” as follows : —
“ The fmost elaborate imitation of living foliage on the
painted ceilings of Italian palaces bear no comparison with
the beauteous profusion of extinct vegetable forms with which
the galleries of these instructive coal mines are overlaid. The
roof is covered, as it were, with a canopy of gorgeous
tapestry, enriched with festoons of the most graceful foliage,
flung in wild irregular profusion over every portion of its
surface. The effect is heightened by the contrast of the coal-
black colour of the vegetables with the light ground-work of
the rock to which they are attached. The spectator feels
transported as if by enchantment into the forest of another
world. He beholds trees of form and character now unknovm
upon the surface of the earth, presented to his senses almost
in the beauty and vigour of their primeval life ; their scaly
stems and bending branches with their delicate apparatus of
foliage all spread forth before him, little impaired by the
lapse of Countless Ages, and being Faithfid Records of ex¬
tinct systems of vegetation which begun and terminated in
times of which these relics are the Infallible Historians.”
The one who quotes the above from another work,
remarks that: — “Humidity must have attended such equa¬
bility, extending without distinct terrestrial zones, probably
completely into the Polar regions.”
This evidence agrees with the revealed hnowledge we have
of the supernal combined Lighting and Life-Forces System
of the Sun & Moon — and the Stars — which were Created within,
and especially for, our Enclosed World ; and at the same time,
it not only verifies the absence of any reason for concluding
that the Old World was supplied with, and resuscitated by

an entirely similar System, but it affords direct, and very
pertinent evidence to the contrary.
The Bible account of Creation and the presence of
visible evidence in the “Earth,” “Land,” “Seas,” and the
Lighting, Heating, Periodic, and alterative - Climatic
Systems, with their respective results, all bear undeniable
testimony that, although the Land and Water in our World
was made conformable to it out of part of “ The Earth” and
“The Waters” which formed the Old World — which God
created “ in The Beginning”; nevertheless, we have many
certain proofs that the Old World was very different in
various ways from ours.
The evidences of this are so numerous that they would
occupy many volumes if given in full detail.
But, in addition to the above-named differences, betwixt
our Enclosed World that “now” is, and that World referred
to by Peter as “ the World that then was,” and of which,
he reveals, certain persons (doubtlessly ungodly geologists®)
were “ willingly ignorant,” there are further differentiations
of even higher evidential import from a Scriptural standpoint
than those we have already referred to.
For instance, skeletons of reptiles have been discovered,
in both the new and the old world which existed in pre¬
historic times whose gigantic sizes and evident long entomb¬
ment proves that they were not created for our Enclosed
World, which was created less than 6,000 years ago. For
instance — quoting from a book before me — “the skeleton of
the Brontosaurus standing all fours, is 50ft. high, and
upright it would measure over 100ft, and when alive must
have weighed 20 tons. The Atlantosaurus skeleton is 80ft.
long, and 10ft. 6in. high, standing all fours ; and that of the
Brontosaurus is 84ft. in length, and 30ft. high, standing all
fours. In Africa alone over 100 different species of distinct
and extinct reptiles have been discovered.” Then again, in
the Divine Word we have the Revelation that “The Earth”
of the Old World perished by Water, but that a different
means of transformation is ordained, not only for the Land
in our Enclosed World, but also its Firmament which God
called “ Heaven.” This is revealed in II. Peter iii. 7, where our
World’s future is foretold, and we learn that “the heavens
and the earth which are now, by the same Word (as that

which ordered that the “Earth ” of the Old World should he
submerged beneath “The Waters ”) are kept in store, reserved
unto Fire.” And we know the Fire is stored within our
Earth !
In the same chapter it is revealed that “ The Heaven
shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall
melt with fervent heat, and the “ Earth ” (i.e., ‘ Dry Land ’)
also, and the Works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what
manner of persons ought ye to be in all manner of conver¬
sation and godliness, Looking for, and hasting for the
coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on
fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with
fervent heat.”
And the Apostle Paul further reveals that the things
which were made in the Six Days are to be shaken and re¬
moved : and that visible thitigs which we see are changable
and transient, whereas those things which are invisible, and
beyond our eye’s reach (and may be beyond that of
mortal understanding) are Eternal. And after the great
transformation of our World by fire there will be “no more
Seas.”
All these things are perfectly certain to come to pass,
but nevertheless they are unheeded and ignored by the world
at large through the leadings of its preachers and teachers.
But each one who professes to teach and uphold the
Word of the Living God (which engenders the Creator’s
Works by Jesus Christ) and fails to do so, is himself pur¬
blind, and consequently incompetent to present the ichole of
the Creator’s revealed Truth to others.
The blind guide blindly leads the blind
Along where he himself may stray,
And if they turn not they will find
They both have missed “ The Narrow Way ! ”
But if they’d learnt to use their eyes
They would have seen God’s ways were wise.

iii. 12 ; ix. 16 ; and xxiii. 16.
From the Divine Account of Creation we learn that our
World was created beneath and in the “ midst ” of those
Waters wherein “ The Earth” of the Old World was sub¬
merged. And (as in each reference to it I repeat) our Land,
whose Dry portion God called “Earth,” was divided from
“ The Earth ” which had perished and become shapeless

beneath “ The Waters ” from which our Waters which God
called “Seas” were divided. And our World’s “Seas,”
being only part of those divided Waters, are gathered to¬
gether into one place in our enclosed Firmament, which is in
their “ Midst ” : resting upon pillars of the Old World’s
Earth beneath it. Therefore, although nothing is revealed
with regard to the extent of “ The Waters,” whose Creation
is never referred to, nevertheless, the revelation that they
contain our Enclosed World (the size and shape of which
is entirely unknown) in their “ midst ” set irpon pillars
of the submerged Old World’s Earth, discloses their im¬
mensity.
Nothing has been revealed as to whether “ The Waters ”
— in whose vast womb our Enclosed World was made — were,
(like our Waters after they were divided from them), also
“ gathered together (in the midst of atmosphere) unto one
place” and enclosed within a Firmament. Nor do we know
whether “The Earth” hung unsupported upon “nothing”
in “The Waters” beneath which it subsequently became
submerged. But it is evident that the Old World was
submerged to so great a depth that it formed the foundations
beneath the Pillars of “ The Earth ” whereupon our Enclosed
World is set. And — unlike the “Land” and “Earth” in
our present World — it was created in shapely form, standing
out of “ The Waters ” and in “ The Waters.” And God
“ formed it to be inhabited, in the Beginning ” when He
Created His Abode, “ The Heaven,” above Heavens which
were over “ The Waters,” and “ The Earth ” before
The Water’s surface covered it and darkness reigned
supreme.
The Lord God Jehovah, the Eternal and only God, has
given us the Revelation that both His Abode, “ The Heaven”
above, and “ The Earth ” of the Old World beneath had a
Beginning, and did not always exist, and that He Created
them both at some time in the past (before our Enclosed
World and its orvn innate Time System was made) which is
described in the Bible’s first words as “ in The Beginning.”
But no Revelation whatever is given as to the Creation of
Water.
And mankind would need enlarged mental capacities to
comprehend supernal knowledge such as Hoic Matter and All
Things — visible and invisible — were Created and brought
into existence ; as also Eternity, from everlasting to ever¬
lasting, is past human comprehension. The All-wise Creator

has withheld the heights and depths of Eternity from His
creatures, and He has not created the finite mind capable
of grasping things Infinite.
The Eternal Past or Future Without End
No Mortal Brain As Yet can Comprehend ;
But A 8 It's God Ordained, so in Our World is Found
All Endless Mortal Things must Curve Around.
The Nature too of Vision God Hath Lent
Curves Round the Limits of Each Man’s Eye-Tent.
The duration of interval between verses 2 and 3 of
Gen. i. no mortal can tell. But, in any case, while there is
ample room for all Geologists’ requirements, there is not an
atom of Space for those of the evolutionists’ Chaos. And the
Divine Record is not only undefinably more enlightening
than man’s invented “ Earth-and-Seas-Planet ” everlastingly
rushing through illimitable “ space ” : but it entirely
contradicts it. And if the latter could be proved to be true
(which would be quite as impossible as to prove our World
to be non-existent) it would prove that the Bible is untrue !
The first 21 Divine and Sublime Words of the Bible
(Eng. Ver.) refer to the Primal Creation. But its History,
Duration, and Wonders are unrevealed. We are informed
what caused the Life-cessation of the Old World, but the
reason for its causation is not given. And, apart from
further Divine Revelation no mortal can knoAv either Why or
When “The Earth” (which God Created “in The Beginning”)
became without form and void beneath The Waters in
darkness. And whether— as many believe — it was caused by
the revolt of Satan or resulted from some other unknown or
humanly incomprehensible cause, God, to us, has not
revealed. But whatever its causation, and whenever it
occurred, we possess evidences of its occurrence ad infinitum
both from the Holy Scriptures and from all Nature’s visible
and exhumed evidences. And Ave have the joy of knowing
that our Creator has designedly Made His Revealed Cosmogony
the Fit'st Subject of His Divine Word, wherein we have the
wonderful Revelation that without our Lord and Saviour —
Jesus Christ — AA'as not anything made (either visible or
invisible) which exists. Also Ave haA’e the deep satisfaction
of possessing knoAvledge far beyond the limits of that of mere
human origin. For instance, is there a mortal astronomer
AA'ho could tell us anything about a world prior to ours, apart
from the Bible ? Not one ! And above all. Divine Cosmical
Knowledge not only strengthens our Faith and enlightens
our minds, but it enables us to beneficially account for many

phenomena, which would be otherwise unaccountable. And
we can thus comprehend the discovered facts of geology with
keener interest, and with thankfulness to our Creator-Father,
through His Beloved Son— the Lord Jesus Christ.

LECTURE ON SPIRITISM,

Learned, Scientific, and Notable thinkers such as Sir
Oliver Lodge, Dr. Alfred Russell Wallace, Professor Crooks,
Godfrey Raupert, Miles Grant, and innumerable others have
examined, and closely analysed spiritism and its phenomena,
and have given their testimony that spiritism is a reality
though its nature is occult. In an excellent article by
Godfrey Raupert in the “Daily Mail” be said : — -“It is an
admitted characteristic of the intelligences, that they attempt
to impersonate deceased individuals, nevertheless it is certain
that the identity of the communicating intelligences has not
been established.” Godfrey Raupert does not attempt to
identify these invisible intelligences who mesmerise certain
mortals, and who know so much about human beings and
things generally, but he truly states that “their moral
character is invariably of a low order, though it often remains
hidden for years under a mass of platitudes and high
sounding phrases.”
But the general moral and physical effect of spiritistic
practices upon investigation (and particularly on the weak or
sensitive) is disastrous. I have met people who had been
compelled to give up acting as “ mediums ” owing to their
having been robbed of their vitality through their intercourse
with invisible agents.
Utter prostration and physical breakdown has resulted,
and these poor creatures became hopeless wrecks.
In A.D. 1877, Dr. L. S. Forbes Winslow, when referring
to madness and its causes, stated that 10,000 people — at that
time — were in lunatic asylums through having tampered
with the Supernatural !
More recently, Professor Del Barrell, who was formerly
President of the Society of Physical Research, has warned
the world from tampering with these mysterious and
invisible agencies,

But spiritism is still upheld and practiced by men and
women of all nationalities and classes from Dukes to indi¬
viduals of the poorest classes.
Seducing spirits have fascinated Archbishops and many
of the Clergy of the Church of England, and preachers of
every known sect have been deceived by them !
Archbishop Colley, writing in favour of “ Spiritism ”
in the 11 Daily Mail,” said, “ Will Spiritism kill all religious
doubt ? ” and he speaks of it as “ a real God-send.” Perhaps
so, but sent by the god of this world and not by the Supreme
Deity. Mr. Colley, however, admitted that “ bad spirits may
now and again come to our circles.”
This Archdeacon states that there is no death. But
God's Word, including the Gospels, states that death exists.
Such contradiction shows that it is an undeniable fact that
if Spiritism be good and true, then the Bible is false.
But the Bible distinctly denounces the practice
of consulting’ spirits respecting" things unrevealed.
Another prominent “ Spiritist,” Dr. J. Peebles, M.D.,
M.A., admits that some of the spirits teach “ the crudest
Darwinism and spontaneous generation,” and that they have
caused much insanity.
Chinese spiritism has brought awful results, as also in
India, the whole details of which would be unfit for print
even if space allowed.
In a work written against spiritism by a friend who was
formerly a clergyman of the Church of England, he states
as follows : —
“ I have received a copy of the Birmingham Weekly Post. Under
the heading ‘ Amazing and Horrifying Tragedy ’ we are told how a spirit
(a demon) so operated upon the mind of a young man as to induce him to
murder his own father ! And how, under the pretence of being the spirit
of a dear brother, the mother and sister were actually led to approve the
crime. The father had opposed their demonism.”
But let us remember that a Divine and Supernatural
antidote is at the command of all Christians to deliver them
from Satan and his host of evil spirits.
E’en at the sound of Jesu’s Name
Seducing spirits flee with shame.
Christians would never be troubled with these Satanic
agents if they strictly obeyed the Divine injunction — “ Resist
the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James iv. 7).

But those who persist iu going after *' familiar spirits ”
to endeavour to obtain information respecting the past and
the future, and other hidden things, seeking after that which
is forbidden, from behind the veil, through occult methods,
are simply seeking after the devil instead of “ resisting him.”
The case of King Saul and many others who have disobeyed
the Divine command in this manner illustrate the disastrous
results from such folly and disobedience. And it is certain
that all who allow themselves to be allured into these “ wiles
of the devil,” who goeth about like a roaring lion seeking
whom he may devour, will suffer thereby.
Of course, these “ wiles of satan ” are probably more
tempting to some mortals than to others. For instance, to
the excessively inquisitive.
But God, through Jesus Christ, will deliver us, if we
put our trust in Him.
The materialisation and dematerialisation of spirit
forms is no fable, but a fact.
Many reliable men and women have borne witness to
such phenomena. Amongst these notable witnesses are Sir
Oliver Lodge, Professor C. Richet and others. From printed
matter I have got I will give the exact testimony of the latter.
Professor Richet states : — At a seance, in the presence
of several persons, another person appeared, a spirit intelli¬
gence, which materialised and dematerialised before his eyes.
The President, who was sceptical, applied experimental
tests, and afterwards reported as follows : —
“ I will establish, first of all, that the person in question was neither
an image reflected on a mirror, nor a doll, nor a lay figure. In fact, it
possessed all the attributes of life. I have seen it leave the seance cabinet,
walk about, go and come. I have heard its breathing and its voice. I have
touched its hand several times ; that hand was warm and jointed. I have
been able through the drapery, with which the hand was covered, to feel
the wrist, the bones of the wrist and of the metacarpal, which yielded to
« the pressure of my hand clasp.”
“ A living body was formed, outside the curtain, before our eyes,
issuing from and returning into the ground.”

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS.
33. — Several books called the Apocrypha are in the Douay Version of
the Bible amongst which are the books of Esdras from whose second book
an irrevellent quotation was made. These books are not accepted by the
Jews as being Inspired Writ, and we do not accept them, or anything
else outside the covers of the Authorised, or Revised Protestant Bible.
34. — Apart from Divine Revelation nothing is known beyond the limits
of human eye-reach in the skies.*
35. — It is easy to quote texts separately, or wrongly joined up together
from various parts of the Scriptures to establish false doctrines.
36. — If we see a Fact of Nature which contradicts the Bible, it shows
that our understanding of the Divine Revelation is not correct. Because
the Facts of Nature and the Bible are one They are in complete unity !
even as the Creator — God, the Father— and His Son— Jesus the Christ—
are described to be One in John chap. 14. In the same chapter those who
are Redeemed by Christ are included in this unity, or oneness. Unity is
not trinity.
37. — It is A.S.’s cleverest Son who accepts The Enclosed World.
But he believed nothing existed before our World was created in Six Days.
The Waters outside our Enclosed World, from which our “Seas” were
divided, were not made on any one of the Six Days of Creation Week.
And God’s having made the Dry Land to “ appear ” above the “ Seas ”
to form our Continents and islands with the revelation that “ God called
the Dry Land “Earth” exposes the fact that the Land was within the
“ divided” Waters, the gathering together of which God called “Seas.” —
Gen. i. 10.
3S. — Teaching that two things contradictory to each other are both true,
stunts the power of Reasoning, and the Teacher cannot teach what he has
never himself learnt.
39. — “ Parallax's ” defence as an anti-globite was a mistaken one when
he adopted the Flat World idea. Of course, it is evident that he, like the
ancient Church of Rome, saw no feasible way of defending his position—
But doubtlessly they both did their best.
40. — We may see where error exists, but not know how to remove it,
and if we attempt to do so on wrong lines, we often set up new errors.
This was P.’s position — as unfortunately he attempted to disprove the
planet-earth theory by setting up another error which engendered many
more.
41. — Jesus Christ revealed that no man will be condemned for offences
performed unwittingly. But he will suffer to some extent through his
mistake. — Luke xii. 4S.
42. — Gal. ii. 18 refers to Paul’s condemnation of those who enforced
Jewish rites upon Christians. This cannot be applied to a refusal to stand
neutral with reference to P.’s false teaching after seeing how to rectify the
errors he unfortunately set up by his mistaken line of defence. One who
wilfully hides error by keeping silence is a worse deceiver than one who
invents or starts it unwittingly through having himself been deceived. But

the one who knows differently, and by his wilful “silence gives consent” to
it, is a guilty “ deceiver,” whom (unless he repents, and ceases his
deception) God will bring to account. Both “ the deceived and the deceiver
are His.” — Job xii. 16.
43. — From the Bible account of the appearing of Dry Land above the Seas,
which God called “ Earth,” and the nature and shapelessness of both the
Wet and the “ Dry Laud ” in our World, as 'well as the undeniable Facts,
and Finds of Geology : and also from the relative distances of our
continents and islands, we learn that the Land in our “ Seas ” is part of
“ The Earth ” which God created “ in The Beginning.”
44. — When God gathered together the divided Waters unto “ one place ”
and “ set a circle ” of atmosphere around their surfaces, He divided them — as
we find them — from the circle of the heavens. And as it is revealed He called
the “ gathered together of the Waters, “ Seas ” and left the Land within them
unsupported , and hung upon “nothing” as we find it, wholly cut off and
disconnected from the Skies wherein our Lights pass round, and beyond
which no mortal’s eye can penetrate to “ see the swaddling band of thick
darkness ” which binds them around our atmosphere which touches the
“ face ” or surface of our “ Seas ” and that of the outstanding “ Earth ” on
which we live.
45. — “ In The Beginning ” is long in the past — probably many millions
of years before our Enclosed World was Made in Six Literal Days — nearing
6000 vears ago — by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ under His
Father’s Almighty supervision.
46. — God brought Light upon the surface of “ The ” darkened “ Waters ”
wherein “ The Earth ” was entombed, to make the First Day.
47. —“ In The Beginning God Created “The Heaven ” (i.e., His Abode)
and “ The Earth ” which through submersion in “ The Waters,” became
shapeless— But our Water-dividing “ Firmament ” which God made to
“divide the Waters” on the Second Day of Creation Week, we are
distinctly told He Called “ Heaven,” and it includes our Skies — which it
Encloses.
48. — Our Heaven is named by its Creator after His Abode. And
our Continents and islands of Dry Land are named after “ The Earth” of
which they were formed.
49. — God created our “ Firmament” which He called “ Heaven ” in the
Midst of “ The Waters,” and set it on “ Pillars ” of “ The Earth ” with solid
everlasting foundations.
50. — No mortal can have any idea what is past sight limits within our
Enclosed World beyond what is revealed in God’s Word.
51. — Our “ Two Great Lights ” were made in our World, and for it on
the Fourth Day of Creation Week And God made the Stars also— but
He gave no revelation of their nature, order, or distances. We are simply
told that they were made for our World, and in it, to give it Life Forces,
including Light, and Heat; and for Signs and Seasons. And to Divide all
periods of Time from Moments to “ Ages.” (See Heb. xi. 3, where the
word Ages has been unfortunately rendered “ worlds ” in some Versions.
52. — The Sun and Moon Lights are “ Two Great Lights” in the same
sense as electricity and gas are, and not two huge bodies ! They are
supernal Lights whose causation is beyond the reach of human eye-sight
and probably past human comprehension. The Lights appear to each
Mortal in convenient size and shape to his eye, as well as his whole nature
for which they were made.

53. — No diagram of our world beyond our Skies can be given, as its
Creator has not revealed the appearance of anything beyond that visible
circuit, wherein the Lights are seen : and neither the innate nor the outer
shape of our “ Firmament ” is known.
54. — Our Enclosed World was created “ in the Midst ” of “ The
Waters” beneath whose surface “ The Earth” which God had created “ In
the Beginning ” had been submerged.
55. — “ The Earth was not created shapeless, but it became so through
inundation in “ The Waters ” whose surface was in darkness. (Gen. 1. 2).
56. — The Waters in our Enclosed World which ” God gathered together
unto one place ” and called “Seas,” were “ divided ” from “ The Waters ”
beneath whose surface “ The Earth ” was buried, and became deformed.
57. — The shapeless Land in our “Seas” is part of “The Earth”
which God Created shapely “ In the Beginning ” and it was divided off into
our World in the divided Waters on the Second Day of Creation Week — And
on the Third Day God Made “ the Dry Land appear ” above the “ Seas ” to
form our Continents and islands — “ And God called the Dry Land Earth.”
68. — God said, Let there be a Firmament in the midst of The Waters,
and let it Divide The Waters from The Waters. And God called the
firmament Heaven." And God said, “ Let the Waters under Heaven be
gathered together unto One Place and let the Dry Land appear” (Gen. i :
6-9) And God Bound the Waters which He named “ Seas ” “ in a Garment”
(Prov. 30 : 4) and made the cloud the Garment thereof, and Thick Darkness
a Swaddling band for it ” (Job 38 : 9). “ And God called the Dry
Land Earth, and the gathering together of the Waters called He Seas ”
(Gon. i : 10).
69. — “ Gathered together ” Waters engender their limitation — as found
by Mariners who circumnavigate them. And “Unto One place” shows
their undivided position in an undivided place, which is xcithin the
atmosphere which wholly surrounds them.

In Harmony with The Two Certain Witnesses — God’s
Written Word and — His Created Works (as opposed
to ALL false things, including false doctrines, and Whirling
“ Seas ’’-and-“ Earth ”-Globe-“ Science — falsely so-called.”)
“THE SUN STOOD STILL.”
(Josh. s. 13).
In a review in The Church Quarterly, the reviewer
states that —
No miraculous intervention of providence has presented a more
formidable problem to human reason than that at Gibeon, when the sun
stood still in the midst of the heavens. That the sun was actually and
literally arrested in his mid-day course is verified by the writer of the book
of Ecclesiasticus, the Rabbins, and the Greek and Latin Fathers. When
the stupendous import of the miracle was understood by divines acquainted
with the mechanism of the solar system (?) this literal interpretation was
regarded as untenable, and while the German theologians, in explaining the
occurrence as an impression produced on the mind of Joshua, the sun
seeming to stand still because the day’s work had been achieved between
noon and sunset, our English exegetists conjecture that the refracted light
of the sun -was sustained in the heavens after the disc had gone down.
This extract shows how the miracle was literally
accepted hy ancient worthies, who had no need to
“ reconcile ” it with modern atheistic theories of the
universe; and that it was only when modern “divines”
accepted astronomical theories about “ the mechanism of the
universe ” that they felt constrained to find some other
“explanation” in harmony therewith. It is a curious fact
that all such “ divines ” including the editors of professedly
religious papers, seek for an explanation in harmony with
what they believe to be the facts of “ science,” rather than
one in harmony with the inspired account and the genenal
teaching of the Holy Scriptures on Cosmic truth. Really
they, for the most part, throw discredit on the Bible account,
as we have seen, hy assuming it was “an impression”
merely on Joshua’s mind (what about the Amorites — had
they the same impression ?), or, that the phenomenon was
caused by “ refraction,” or that the account is a myth, or a

mere poetic license due to the exuberance of the Eastern
imagination !
But let us notice what is this last, though probably not
final, speculation as to what the miracle really is supposed to
be, if they admit a miracle at all.
The plain and unvarnished account of the Bible is to be
discredited, and so the writer asks : “ Why should the Moon
pause in the valley of Ajalon when at mid-day her light
would have added no increasement to that of the Sun ? ”
Now the fact that the Moon’s motion was also arrested,
instead of beiug a difficulty with Bible students ought rather
to show them that Joshua spoke by the inspiration of God.
Had he only spoken as a man the Sun’s light was all that he
needed to enable him as an Israelitish general to pursue, and
complete the conquest of his enemies. Then why did he
command the Moon also to stand still ? Because if the Moon
had not been stayed, as well as the Sun, the Israelitish
calendar would have been put out of order ; the months
would have been disarranged, and the reckoning of time and
the cycles of time would have been interfered with. Hence
we may see that Joshua spoke under the direct inspiration of
God, and that the Sun did stand still, otherwise the Moon
need not have been interfered with at all.
The Planet Earth.
A known writer says “ that the earth, in common with all the
planets, revolves around the sun is a fact which rests upon
the clearest demonstrations of philosophy. That it revolves
like them upon its own axis, is a truth which every rising
and setting sun illustrates.” “ Either the earth moves
around its axis every day, or the whole universe moves
around it in the same time.”
This is the style of their reasoning. The “ fact ” of the
earth’s revolution rests, we are told, upon philosophy ! But
human philosophy opposed to God’s Word is a poor basis for
a fact to rest upon ; and strange to say this fact does not
seem to rest long at a time. We are continually shaking it
off its philosophic pedestal. Yet the writer adds, “it pleased
the all-wise Creator to assign the earth its position amongst
the heavenly bodies.”
The Creator has revealed that the Lights move within
the circular Heavens above the circular “ Seas ” and out¬
standing “ Earth.” But our opponents affirm that it is earth
which l'otates ; hence they are so anxious to explain away
Joshua’s miracle, from which it is evident that he thought it

was the Sun which moved ! If they could prove that the
Sun, Moon, and Stars, were gigantic bodies at immense
distances, it would seem incongruous to suppose that they all
revolve about the “ Earth.” — As this writer admits — to
suppose the latter case to be a fact would be to cast a
reflection on the wisdom of the Supreme Architect, whose
laws are universally harmonious. But if (as our opponents
suggest) “ even a human architect built a house, and then
made an electric globe to light it a million times bigger than
the house, would not this reflect upon his skill?” We
certainly think it would prove he was insane.
If we profess to believe the Bible we should stand by its
teachings against all the “vain philosophy” in the world.
Bible Writers and Bible readers, for over five thousand years
believed that our World was stationary, and that the Sun
moved around it, and so caused the alternation of Night and
Day. This agrees with the evident meaning of the account
of Joshua’s miracle. If any one could give proof that the
“ Earth ” and “ Seas” are a whirling-globe, and that the Sun
is relatively stationary to it, then it would be time enough to
attempt to “ reconcile ” the account with the “ facts ” of
astronomy. But no man in the world has ever been able to
do this.
That the account was believed by the world of old, as a
miraculous intervention on the part of the Creator, Who
surely has all power over His Own Works, is testified by
Josephus, whose statements are admittedly reliable.
Be Silent.
In the Revised Version of the Bible the words “be
silent” are placed in the margin. Therefore the Hebrew wording
bears the meaning of sound as well as motion, the nature of
whose motive energy we do not know. But if anything
relating to its supernal nature could be suggested, it may
arise from mechanical process connected with the Tabernacle
of the Sun which is set in the heavens. It is a well-known
fact that all motion produces sound.
To command the Sun to “ be silent ” is equivalent to the
command “stand thou still,” asstopping the sound would
arrest the motion. This at once harmonizes the difficulties.
If we believe as the Bible teaches and observations prove,
that the Sun is in motion above and around the circumference
of the “ Seas ” and outstanding continents and islands of
“ Earth,” all is clear. But if we have more faith in so-called
“ science ” than in the Bible, we shall have to accept all
sorts of tricks of interpretation resorted to in order to get

rid of the difficulty of reconciling the statements of the Bible
with various men’s various modern ideas of the universe.
Besides, those who try to explain away this miracle because
of the idea involved of a moving Sun, to be consistent, ought
also to explain away every other passage in the Bible, and
there are many which speak of the motion of the Sun.
The Sun consists of, or conveys, not only Light and
other Life-Forces, but it is the great Time-Divider — being
the Ruler of the Day, having a “ Tabernacle.” But the
Tabernacle of the Sun is not the Sun itself. The latter may
reach partly, or entirely round ‘‘ in the heavens ” above our
visible Skies, and moving images may be impinged by its
agency to every eye that is a certain distance beneath it, ichile
it moves. The Bible clearly reveals that the Sun’s motion is
accompanied with sound ; therefore if the sound must cease,
the motion also, which causes it must cease. Hence the
record of this miracle is quite in keeping with Bible teaching
which Jesus Christ endorsed ; and also in keeping with natural
science. We are told of no Tabernacle of the Moon, and that
of the Sun may act for both. We know no more than God
has revealed in His Word, and in His Wonderful Works :
and language is not a perfect tool. But we have Kature
ever before our eyes, and the use of all our God-given Senses
to “ Search the Scriptures" which contain no hypotheses.
Therefore, although, as modern astronomers admit, solar
energy is an unsolved problem, nevertheless we have the
revealed knowledge from the Creator that when Joshua’s
Sun-Light ceased to move, the Moon-Light also was “stayed,”
and with the cessation of their motive action there was
cessation of sound.
He Who Believes Our World’s a Star,
From Truth and Reason's Fold is far.
To uphold false “ science ” the world is taught to
believe the lie that the whirling-globe hypothesis agrees with
the Bible, and only a small percentage of mortals perceive
that the Scriptures contradict all the various “ planet-earth ”
tenets of modern astronomy. But the great majority of this
“small percentage" are frequently led by the arch enemy of
God and man to give up the Bible account of Creation, and
from the ranks of such, have arisen many laurel-croivned
professors of modern “Science."
The following quotation from a letter — just received —
exhibits how these professors contradict each other : —
“ I have read your “Chaos” once, but I shall have to
read it again. Which ‘ Bible-denying theorist ’ maintained

that the absence of seasons in early geological periods was
dne to our receiving light from other solar systems ? I
never heard that theory, and it seems quite irreconcilable
with orthodox astronomy. For, if you will accept for a
moment provisionally the theory that the stars are suns and
all far larger than the earth, you will see that if one of them
came near enough to give perceptible heat, it would also be
near enough to disturb enormously the movements of the
earth and other planets. Indeed many astronomers say that
Denel, the bright star in the Swan, at present moving
directly towards the solar system, will 200,000 years hence,
destroy all life on the earth and other planets. For if Denel
passes the sun at about the distance of Uranus, the outer
planets will probably be carried off to revolve round Denel,
and the inner ones (including the earth) swing about so
violently by the rival attractions as to perish by heat, cold,
earthquake, and great tidal waves. If Denel and the sun
should actually collide, of course the whole of the other solar
system would be vaporised at once by the heat.
I think the usual explanation of the warmth of early
geological ages is that the earth itself was still hot enough to
keep its surface warm. No doubt you consider that just as
un-Biblical as the theory you attack.”
Quite so and equally foolish, but, as my correspondent
truly says, “ it is more popular.”
The “ planet-earth ” of pagan origin is not a very
wonderful idea, but on its baseless foundations many men
have been in some way drawn to exercise their calculative
faculties by constructing different tenets for its support.
And thus various hypothetical systems of cosmogony, contra¬
dictory to each other have been introduced to the world as
Science ! Copernicus’s aim was to make all his hypothetical
“ calculations agree ” with each other. But this aim was not
strong enough in itself to permanently float his theories.
And the whole secret of the trick which has established
modern astronomy has laid in the difficult task of making
its calculations near enough to known facts so as to connect
them together neatly without showing the join ! But any
calculist might invent a whirling-globe theory by imagining
that a number of various sized balls revolved at arranged
speeds around a huge central luminous ball within a
measured area. But at whatever speed he might imagine
his balls to rotate and revolve around his enormous luminous
central ball, and however well he could arrange his balls’
speed in harmony with time, his calculations could never
reveal anything beyond his imagined area of action. Nor

could they reveal the source of his gigantic luminous central
ball’s energy, or the laws governing its luminous emission.
Many mathematicians having been led to reject or ignore
their Creator’s cosmical revelation have wasted their time
and talents in trying to establish mathematical theories
which they have built upon the pagan idea that our “ Seas ”
and “ Earth ” and submerged “ Land ” are a planet ever¬
lastingly rotating and revolving in never-ending “ space.”
But as their basal figure’s wrcmg their energies are lost !
Apart from logic’s wond’rous art, all calculations prove
More valueless than words impart, without a truthful groove.
To teach a child the sea and earth are rushing in the sky,
Distorts his Reason from his birth and makes his Bible lie.
When things conflicting with God’s Book are placed on Thrones of Truth,
Just for a moment let us look how these things injure youth.
A Church of England preacher had false “ science ” once denounced,
When quite a youth — a thinking lad— arose and thus announced :
“ Sir, may I ask a question now?” — the preacher bowed his head :
“ Then ” said the youth, “ will you tell how that Bible’s true you’ve read ?
Do you believe, sir, the Sun’s course was stopped by man’s demand ? ” —
The minister replied “ Of course ; — by Joshua’s command.” —
“ Now here’s against your Joshua proof, which baffles all defiance,
He would have s'opped the globe in truth, if he had known true science.”
The preacher said, “ Now I request an answer straight from you —
How do you know7 by certain test, your moving earth is true ? ”
“ Oh,” said the youth, “ I never knew that any one could doubt it,
As all my masters thought it true, who taught me all about it.”
“ I doubt it much,” the preacher said, “ so much that none could move it,
Yet kindly name the facts you said your masters gave to prove it.”
With stock-proofs crushed , such proofs as be, like Sight's unlimitation,
This young agnostic soon did flee to “ catch a train ” at station.
Thus men teach minds in their bright morn to worship man-made “ science,”
Which makes them doubt with rabid scorn God's Book of true reliance.
No man can ever find all truth, however deep he probe,
While bearing errors fixed in youth, 'neath prejudice’s robe.
According to The Word of God, the sun ( the greater
Light) stood still in the midst of heaven, and the “ Moon ”
( the lesser Light) in the valley of Ajalon. And I now remind
every thinking Christian who sings about “this terrestrial
ball,” and every man who flavours his sermons with whirling-
globe “ science ,” that it would have been necessary to stop
your swiftly rotating “globe” if it had been rushing round
and round your huge sun (93,000,000 miles from it) at the
rate of over a thousand miles per minute, if the Creator and
Joshua had known your “ science.”
God ordered the “ Two Great Lights ” to stop at
Joshua’s command. And the image of the Sun “stood still ”
in Joshua’s mid-heaven and the Moon over the Valley of
Ajalon as long as the Lights (or their causation) ceased
moving around within the circle of the heavens (Job xxii. 14)
above the circle of the “ Seas” and the outstanding “ Earth ”
(Prov. viii. 27).

LECTURE ON SPIRITISM,

By experiments with baryta water the phantom was
found to breathe natural human breath which turned the
baryta water white ; and the figure was photographed. Mr.
Richet, being sceptical, was mystified, and could not under¬
stand what he saw, but he is prepared to maintain that —
“ There is something profoundly mysterious in it, which will change
from top to bottom our ideas of the nature of life.”
So it will appear to the mass of mankind ; and those wrho
are not prepared for these things by an intelligent and un¬
biased study of God’s Word will be likely to fall into this
snare of the devil. Read I. Tim. iv. 1 ; Matt. xxiv. 24 ; and
2 Thess. xi , 9, 10. But “Light is sown for the righteous,
and gladness for the upright in heart” (Psa. xcvii., 11).
A lying spirit voluntarily proffered how to deceive Ahab,
King of Israel (see I. Kings xxii. 21, 22).
The Lord Jesus Christ, and His Apostles, and the
Evangelists speak of and address the “ unclean spirits” as
entities inhabiting human beings, and yet perfectly distinct
from the persons who were “possessed” by them. Surely
our Lord understood what he was talking about.
These evil spirits evidentl}7 prefer embodiment to
disembodiment and so they go from one body to another,
but they do not die. But all evil will eventually cease.
Professor Crookes’ unquestionable testimony is that
when spirits materialise it is under stringent test conditions
of a scientific and rare character.
Dr. P. Randolph was a noted lecturer on “Spiritualism,”
but he ultimately renounced and denounced it. He had been
in a trance over two thousand five hundred times and
delivered three thousand lectures during eight years. But
he expressed the deepest regret that he had “wasted so much
excellent breath ; and with mind and body almost ruined.”
He said : “ Chance led a man to approach me ere the lamp of
life had quite gone out ; and by God’s mercy I was saved.”
He further said : —
“ Since I abandoned Spiritualism, and denounced it, my health of mind
and body is slowly returning, and I would rather see cholera in my house
than be again a spiritual medium.
All my sufferings I charge to demonism and the infernal doctrines
taught by many invisibles.
Spiritualism is anti-Bible, anti-God, anti-Christian, unrighteous,
destructive to morality, disorderly and irreligious, and consequently should
be shunned by everybody and especially by those who desire to follow God’s
truth and holiness. The Bible strictly forbids dealings with Satan or his
hosts.
For seven years I held daily intercourse with what purported to be my
mother’s spirit ; I am now firmly persuaded that it was nothing but an evil
spirit and an infernal demon, who in that, guise gained my soul’s confidence
and led me to the very brink of ruin.
Five of my spiritualistic friends destroyed themselves, and I attempted
to do the same by direct spiritual influence. Hundreds of thousands of
human beings have been drawn down'- from respectability, morality, health,
wealth, and intelligence, to the filth of free love, poverty, bodily suffering,
insanity, murder and suicide.
Spiritualism is a synonym of all falsities and lies — a cloak for all sorts
of crimes and adultery, murder, lust, etc. ; — it weakens man’s intellect and
individuality, and changes his worship of God to a worship of Ghosts ! ”
I could give hundreds of testimonies similar to the
foregoing — many of which might even be stronger.
But I have taken the first that came up haphazard from
volumes of printed evidential matter.

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS.
70. — From the Scriptures we learn that our heavens are limited, and
that the “ Firmament ” which God called “ Heaven ” encloses the ethereal
heavens wherein are the moving Lights which surround our “Seas ’’and
outstanding “ Earth.”
71. — The modern astronomer’s so-called “ space ” is illimitable, whereas
the words “wider the ivhole heaven ” which occur several times in the Bible
alone prove limitation — as shown by the word “whole.’’
72. — The “ Earth ”-and-“ Seas ’’-whirling-globe theory leads the mind
to conceive nothing but stars in illimitable “ space,” which is an entirely
false conception of our World and its surroundings.
73 — .If we use our God-given Senses in the study of our Creator’s
Word, we shall not be led to profess to believe it while we profess to
believe things directly opposed to it.
74. — All mortals must know that their Creator is able to do things past
their human understanding. Mortal Senses are all limited : and the length
of the eye-line has equal possibilities in every direction which cannot, by

75. — The nature of our Enclosed World verifies what God has revealed.
He did not upraise “The (submerged) Earth” (which He Created “In the
Beginning”) to make our World. But He used it in the midst of “The
Waters” (wherein it was) to form “ the Pillars of The Earth,” and doubt¬
lessly the solid “Firmament” which is “ set ” upon them: and also our
Land, which God brought into our Enclosed World in the divided Waters
(which God called “Seas ”) where it now is: the Dry Land (which God
called “ Earth ”) appearing above their surfaces.

THE SEASONS,
Heaven’s “ Lights ” divide all Time — as seen in our Enclosed World’s skies,
Yet their causation ne’er has been revealed to human eyes ;
Star-courses and Eclipse-times were by primal mankind known,
But Heaven's supernal Energy, and Laws, God has not shown.
We are expressly told by God that the Sun was made in,
and for our Enclosed World, and that it rules the day.
Therefore the Sun is the natural cause of day, and has the
division of the day under its control — lengthening the day
or shortening it according to the changes in its position.
And the Sun’s Creator has revealed that the Sun is a
“ Light,” and not a huge body 2,646,000 miles in circum¬
ference, 93 millions of miles from man’s eyes, in illimitable
so-called “space.” No ! but according to the Scriptures,
which God’s Son from Heaven endorsed, the Sun is “ the
Greater Light.” But the composers of modern astronomy
contradict the Creator and assert that day and night are caused
by the rotation of our “ Earth ”® and “ Seas’ ” and the year
by their revolution around their huge-bodied Sun. But no
mortal invention could reconcile the seeming movements of
the image which illuminates every man’s eye-tent with
the appearance which a huge motionless object would
present under the astronomers’ conditions. The Creator
of the Sun states that it is a Great Light and not a
huge body, millions of miles distant from the observer. All
the “ space ” that man can know of or trace is our
atmosphere which is comparatively but a few miles in
height above the surfaces of our “ Earth ” and “ Seas ” and
* God called the Dry Land “ Earth,” and the gathering together of the
Waters “Seas,” and the visible Sun, Moon, and Stars “Lights.”
Therefore the writer has written these and other single words in
inverted commas throughout this and other articles to show they are
Biblical terms, and to remind the reader of their full significance.

surrounded by the circular heavens which are enclosed
within the Water-dividing “Firmament'’ which God called
“Heaven,” and which encloses our World, and divides it
from all beyond its limits. Both the Bible and Nature show
that our Heavens surround our “ Seas ” and outstanding
“ Earth,” and that the “ Lights ” are ever moving in them
in their regular God-appointed courses.
In Gen. i. 16 it is revealed that on the Fourth Day of
Creation Week “ God made Two great Lights ; the Greater
Light to rule the day, and the lesser Light to rule the night
and “ He made the Stars also. And God set them in the
Firmament of the Heaven to give light upon the Earth.”
Therefore the Sun is a moving “ Light ” reaching partly
around within the heavens which are enclosed within the
solid water-dividing “Firmament.”
But God has not revealed to us how the Lights reach
around and operate within our ethereal heavens.
We see the Lights, and mark their courses,
But God has not revealed their Forces ;
And past the reach of mortal eyes
We cannot trace things in the Skies.
The shape of our Light-charged atmosphere is curved,
the ethereal skies forming a hollow globe all round above
it at a certain distance above our “ Seas ” and outstanding
“ Earth.”
Above the ethereal Skies is solid Sky, which is strong,
as a molten (i.e., melted metal) looking glass. Clouds float
in various directions in .the upper part of our breathing
atmosphere. But the cloud is above the Skies, and “men 6ee
not the bright Light that is in the Cloud.” But through
its striking against certain points it brings an image to
human eyes.
The Sun appears in the form of a ray-emitting image, or
lamp, within the limits of every mortal’s eye-formed tent in
the inhabitable world daily. But the extreme north and
south ends of the heavens are both beyond the Sun-Light’s
reach when its greatest force is in equatorial regions
mid-wav betwixt them, and consequently ordinary day and
night come to an end at the "poles" and cause the surfaces
beneath those centres to be uninhabitable.
The regular differentiations of the power and the
position of the Sun causes Spring, Summer, Autumn, and
Winter successively. But beyond the Arctic and Antarctic
circles are the “ends” of the northern and southern heavens,

where through the Light of the Sun ceasing to rule the day
and divide it from the night the ordinary Seasons come to
an end. When the Sun is midway betwixt the “ ends of the
Heavens in March and September, it reaches to neither the
north end, nor the smith end, but in June it wraps right
over the north end causing continual day for several months,
its greatest power then being in the north. And at Christmas
its greatest power being over the southern regions causing
a long day of month’s duration there — leaves the northern
end of our Enclosed World in darkness, until the Sun,
in its regular course, returns to again give the south end
— in its turn — a long night.
And thus the Sun’s greater power, by gradually
oscillating from north to south, crosses the Equator twice a
year: leaving its lesser power in the north during the
northern autumn and winter, and in the south during the
northern spring and summer. And by its faster daily-varying
circumferential movement around the Heavens from east to
west it causes successive days of various lengths — except,
as above stated, when its greatest power is in a central
position circumferentially, i.e., when it is directly over the
Equator — days and nights then being the same length all
over the inhabitable world. And so we may see that
the Sun-Light has two great movements, viz., an oscillating
motion from north to south, and back to north in one year,
and a revolving movement right round the Heavens above
the “ Seas ” and “ Earth ” circumferentially in 24 hours.
The Sun’s greater and lesser power alternately passing
from north to south and its wrap reaching only half way
round the world’s circumference at the Equator, as well as its
northern and southern reach not covering the length of the
Heavens from north to south ; and the changes in its daily
east to west course, due to its regular oscillation from the
tropic of Cancer to Capricorn, cause the variations in the
length of days and nights, and the periodical Seasons.
The Sun’s Rays not only bear Life Forces from above
for each individual’s life-sustenance, but they also convey
life-potentialities to the whole surfaces of the “ Seas ” and
“ Earth.” Otherwise, every creature and all vegetation
within our World would die !
It is quite unaccountable how reasonable men and
women are led to accept the pagan idea that the “ Two
Great Lights ” which God created within the circuitous cavity
of our Firmament are two huge bodies in illimitable “space.”
The size of the object which crosses each individual’s eye-
tent daily and conducts the light to his eyes bears

undeniable evidence that it is made in harmony with his
Sight-Sense possibilities. It would be just as reasonable to
suppose that the light of electricity and that of gas are two
huge bodies as to think that the Sun and Moon are.
“The lesser Light,” i.e., the Moon, introduces its
presence into the northern and southern Heavens succes¬
sively. It crosses the Equator fortnightly and is the
cause of the lunar month. The shape of the Sun’s and
the Moon’s courses are similar, but their periods and
declinations are different both north and south.
And there is another great difference betwixt the Sun
and the Moon, viz., the visible Sun is daily present — either in
its most powerful or less powerful force — on both sides of
the equator simultaneously, whereas with the Moon it is not
so. But when the Sun’s greatest power is in the southern
heavens, causing shorter days and longer nights in the
north, the full moon is in the north ; and, similarly, when it
is summer in the north, and the nights south of the equator
are long, the moon’s fullest light is in the south. Moonshine
is not reflected sunshine, its light being of a different nature
and much weaker. And those who deny this, deny the
visible differences as witnessed by their own eyes, as well
as by their Creator’s Word, which states that He created
“ Two Lights ” — one “ Greater” and one “ Lesser.”
But professors of the whirling globe hypothesis tell us
that the Moon receives its Light from their huge Sun-body.
And they assert that “ the Moon is a body which revolves
round the earth (but they mean the Earth and Seas) in
nearly a circle, called its orbit or path.” One professor states :
“The moon has several motions, and (regarding that by which it
revolves round the Earth whilst the Earth travels round the Sun) he says this
is effected bv a cork-screw motion, otherwise the Moon would have to travel on
one side of her orbit, in a direction opposite to that of the Earth. When
new or full the Moon is on the ecliptic, or has the same level with the Sun
as the Earth. But when seven days old she is above the Earth, so that seven
days after, when being full, she is below the Earth. To understand this,
all we have to do is to imagine a straight line which represents the path of
the Earth in her orbit. Then imagine that after being new the Moon dives
below the Earth (but still keeping about the same distance from the Earth)
She then ascends on the other side of the Earth and becomes full when she
again reaches our level. She is then outside the Earth ; when new she is
inside. This is why the Sun can only be eclipsed by the Moon when she
is new, and also explains that the shadow of the Earth can only eclipse the
Moon when the latter is full.”
A complete circle like the diagram on next page contains
360 angles of one degree, four angles of 90 degrees, and so on.
Astronomers use such a circle, with its centre at
the centre of the Seas and Earth, and upon this they

determine the angles formed by the supposed planes referred
to ; and they assert that they have thus found that the angle
made by the plane of the ecliptic, and the plane of their globe’s
motion of rotation is 23 deg., or thereabouts (say 23|-) and
they assert that the angle made by the plane of the ecliptic,
and the plane of their Moon-body’s motion round their globe
is a little over 5 degrees.
The circumference of our Seas and Earth is doubt¬
lessly about 25,000 miles at the equator, or largest circum¬
ferential circle : and working on the false hypothesis that
the Earth and Seas are a star in “space” the astronomers
assert that the diameter of their Moon is 2,160 miles.
Their globe s rotatory speed they say is over 1,000 miles per
hour at the Equator, and its orbital, or rushing round and
round their Sun speed, about 1,100 miles per minute; and the
Moon’s speed round their globe is stated in Marvels of Science
to be 180 miles per minute. The following paragraph is
very suitably entitled A Romance of the Moon.
Sir Robert Ball, in his Time and Tide : A Eumanee of the Moon, makes
an estimate respecting the Moon’s moment of momentum, which, says he,

“ may be regarded as the product of the mass and its velocity, the moment
of momentum being found by multiplying the momentum by the radius of
the path pursued ; yet where the body does not revolve in a circle, but
pursues an elliptical path, the moment of momentum is to be found by
multiplying the orb’s velocity and its mass into the perpendicular from the
Sun in the direction in which the orb is moving.”
In quoting the foregoing, and also the following figures
given by different modern astronomers, we deem it impossible
to adhere to accuracy, Not only because the distances of their
“heavenly bodies” have been differently rated ; but in dealing
with
“A ROMANCE OF THE MOON,”
where veracity is not the ruling principle, accuracy is out of
court. But if it were a fact that the Moon travels round
our World at the rate of 180 miles per minute, it follows that
in a month of 28 days it would have travelled about
7,257,600 miles ; yet they say their Moon-body performs its
revolution round their globe in 27 days 7 hrs. 43 mins. ; but in
consequence of the progressive motion (i.e., the orbital
motion) of their globe, their Moon takes 2 days 5 hrs. longer to
again occupy the same position between their rushing Sun
and their globe.
Now if the diameter of the Seas and Earth is about 8,000
miles the distance they assume their Moon from it, viz.,
240,000 miles, is thirty times their planet-Earth’s diameter.
But taking the calculation that the diameter of the Moon’s
orbit is more than 60 times the size of our “ Seas,” and
outstanding Earth’s diameter, viz., 480,000 miles — making its
circumference about 1,450,000 miles— one cannot but stand
amazed at the awful nature of their Moon's supposed motion in
flying round their “ planet-Earth ” ; and when the two motions
are in the same direction (i.e., the “ planet-Earths’ ” and the
Moon’s) the velocity would consequently be tremendous ! It
is truly “ a romance.” And it would be impossible for
eclipses to last as long as they do on this assumption. The
retardation in the one case and the acceleration in the other
case, every day, cannot be adequately described. Such
notions are not only un-Scriptural, but unthinkable, yet, we
are not only asked to accept them, but also further tremendous
added motions of the “New Astronomy ” !
But apart from the immense added motions of the latest
astronomy, it is a difficult task to differentiate between the
immense difference of the stated speed of the astronomers'
Earth-Star round his Sun-bodv and that of his Moon-body
round his Star-Earth, except to say that the proportion is as
180 to 1,100 per minute, and this differentiation goes on
perpetually. It is evident that their “ heavenly lights” could
never be in that position to each other whereby their lunar
eclipses could last many minutes.

At the time of the new Moon it follows the Sun closely
in its daily course, whether in the north or the south, falling
back 12 or 13 degrees daily. That the Moon is slower may
be noticed from the fact that it is about an hour later each
day in rising. Consequently the Signs of the Zodiac
containing the Constellations pass it at the rate of about 13
degrees daily, all passing it in about 28 days.
This makes the astronomers think that their Moon
(which they regard as being a huge heavenly body) has gone
through the Signs in a direction contrary to its real course,
which thejr term “ direct motion ” !
When the Moon gets behind the Sun into that position,
which is called the opposition or full Moon phase, it is not
only in the opposite part of the Heavens, east or west,
appearing or “rising” as the Sun is disappearing or
“ setting,” but it is also in an opposite part of the Heavens as
regards the Equator. That is when the Sun’s greatest power
is in the Southern Heavens at such a time, the Moon’s
declination would be north and vice versa.
In the Moon’s monthly course it circles or spirals*
around the northern Heavens daily for about a fortnight,
and then crossing the equator it goes daily around the
southern Heavens, following a similar course once a month.
The Two Great Lights were created in this Enclosed
World, and expressly for it, on “the Fourth Day” in
harmony with and for man’s eye and his whole Senses. And
they bring Life-forces directly to every mortal, creature, and
thing, and also (as above described) they make the Seasons
and all divisions of Time by their movements in the circular
Heavens which surround the “Seas” and “Earth” above
our atmosphere.
The Sun’s Forces, and doubtlessly those of the Moon and
the Planets are borne in their Rays, and by magnetic, and
other influences they impregnate the whole atmosphere we
breathe, as they travel around above our “ Earth ” and
“ Seas ” surfaces.
The local Seasons are ruled by the Sun’s position with
respect to any particular country ; and, as the Psalmist says,
“ He appointed the Moon also for certain Seasons.” The simul¬
taneous visibility of the moving Sun-Light reaches but partly
around the circumferential heavens, and when it sets, its
wrap has passed round beyond where its visibility is possible,
and a new period of time called “Night” begins.
As the natural day begins at the close of the previous
day, or sunset, so the natural year begins at the close of the

previous year which naturally occurs about the end of
September, when the fruits of the earth have been gathered
in. This was the beginning of the year to the Israelites.
They had, also, what may be called a civil year, which began
yearly at the end of our March. Either of these periods will
do for a starting point when the Sun’s greatest force crosses
the Equator. If from either of these periods we watch the
Sun’s course daily, we shall notice that besides an elliptical
path which the Sun has daily around the Heavens, it has
also a course which carries it either further towards the south
in October, or nearer towards the north in April.
After the 21st March (when the days and nights are
equal) if we notice the Sun's position each day at 12 o’clock,
noon, we shall find that it mounts higher and higher in the
Heavens until Mid-Summer when it attains a North Declina¬
tion of 23^°, that is, in other words, its daily circuit around
the “ Seas ” and outstanding “ Earth ” becomes less and less
from Spring to Mid-Summer, so that about the end of June
if we were to go further north, into the northern parts of
the country called Norway, we might see the Sun-Light at
midnight, and all the twenty-four hours. And likewise at
Christmas in the south, when the Sun’s greatest power is
there.
Although the Nature of the Supernal Heavenly Lights,
and their governing laws of action, including that of their
regular appearance to each mortal within his own limited
eve-bounds, and also the Nature of Life-Forces, and their
unswerving supply for the resuscitation of our whole world,
and the motional circulation of the wind may be to us mysteries
as inexplicable, as is the growth of a blade of grass or the
mainspring of life itself. Yet we know that the “ Two
Great Lights,” through their visible “ Lights ” in the
Heavens, and the Stars, divide all Time, and cause all
Seasons by their movements. And through their Rays Life-
Forces descend from the circular skies into our atmosphere
to permeate it and the whole surfaces of our “ Seas ” and
‘‘ Earth ” and all living things with life-sustaining virtues
from Heaven. And even under the limits of finite knowledge
reasons may be given based on Scriptural Revelations, and
all visible phenomenon — as well as on the evidences of our
God-given Senses — showing how the visible Lights of the
Sun and Moon are caused to “ rise ” in the eastern horizon
and to go “down” in the wrestern horizon of each mortal’s
limited eye-tent in accordance with his eye’s possibilities.
For instance, it can be shown that an appearance like that of
the moving Sun-images could be produced by sucsessive

lightings of the different parts of a highly ph'ospherescent
zone in the upper air ; somewhat as the parts of a big
electric sky-sign advertisement are lighted and extinguished
from a stationary dynamo, the light seeming to run across
a field of grass. The influence which kindles these Sun-
images might be the Sun-Light beyond the highly refractive
swaddling-band of darkness : and this swaddling-band might
be of some material which is instantly blackened by light
passing through it but recovering its transparency in a certain
number of hours according to ruling conditions. Modern
astronomers are compelled to admit that they do not know
the nature of the Sun’s energy : and also that great
astronomical discoveries had been made untold Ages before
their earliest records existed. This is true, but we have the
Bible Record, which they are compelled to ignore because it,
contradicts their theories. But the unprejudiced 'Truth-loving
mind will perceive that the Creator’s revealed account of the
Creation of our Enclosed World is simplicity itself as
compared to modern astronomers’ intricate mazes in their
non-existing “ space ” without end, wherein they have
arranged their various orbits’ shapes, and speeds of motion
of their imaginary rushing “ heavenly bodies ” of their solar
system ” ; which, in fact, are “ Lights in the Firmament
see Gen. i. 14.

In these evidences it is shown how Ministers, Doctors,
Lawyers, Judges, Governors, Presidents, Kings, Queens,
Emperors, and Rulers of all kinds of religions have bowed,
and are bowing to evil “Spirit ” influence, and its fascinations.
And how no system of religion ever made so great and swift
progress, or ever had a better prospect of bringing the whole
world into its embrace. Its doors are open to Roman
Catholics and Protestants, Infidels and Atheists, the lewd
and the virtuous, Mohammedans, Jews, and Pagans. All are
welcome to enter on a broad road into this broad church !
Scores of ministers have left their churches to preach this
“ new gospel of Spiritualism ” as they term it.
In a work by Dr. Potter entitled Spiritualism he says : —
“ We are personally acquainted with one who claims to be
Christ’s medium, and a medium for the higher order of
spirits, as the Apostles, and other holy men. This medium
held dark circles with persons in their nude state ! and his
character was seen to be very bad.”

Devils have “doctrines,” and it is revealed that in the
latter times some will give up their Christian faith through
giving heed to Satan’s false doctrines, which seducing spirits
introduce through mediums. Therefore of devils’ anti-
Christian doctrines such as the following we should be fore¬
warned : —
There is no God ; or he is too far away to care for this
world ;
Jesus the Christ did not rise from the dead;
Man is his own saviour;
Man, even apart from Christ, is immortal ;
There is no second coming of Christ ;
The Bible account of Creation is untrue.
There is no devil ;
There is no sin ;
There will be no resurrection of the dead ;
Jesus Christ never performed any miracles ;
There is no God but a principle in all matter — similar
to magnetism and electricity — and this principle
is the author of both what we call good and evil,
commonly called Pantheism ;
Whatever is, is right ;
Monads evolve through all forms of rocks, trees and
animals, and at last evolve into mortals — men
and women !
The only true union is spirit affinity — true affinities are
said to be spirits born at the same time in the
spirit life as are their counterparts on earth.
These unions, it is taught, are immortal.
ATM TO FOUND A UNIVERSAL EMPIRE.
Napoleon III., and other crowned heads, and prominent
men in the Governments and in the Army, and innumerable
individuals belonging to the highest and lowest classes, have
consulted, and are at present consulting, evil “ sedueing-
spirits.”
One of the under-lying motives of spiritism is eventually
to crush all existing forms of government, and to build up a
Theocratic Democracy of a demoniac nature, in opposition to
God, Truth and Christianity.
“Seducing Spirits” doubtlessly only have a wider range
of knowledge than human beings in some ways.

The following is a conversation with a spirit which was
published in “ The Banner of Light"-. —
Ques. : What is the process of induction of a subject bv a develop¬
ing medium ?
Ans. : The process is the changing of the magnetic and electric con¬
dition of the subject under a course of treatment. For instance, there may
be a superabundance of magnetism. The developing spirit endeavours to
equalise the forces, or to bring about an electrical and magnetic condition
that shall be adapted to the return of the disembodied spirits, and the
making of various manifestations.
Ques. : Are these changes effected by the brain ?
Ans: No; the nervous system is generally first affected, then the
system entire; not simply the centre, but the system entire.
Ques : Has the spirit any other way of manifesting itself except
through the brain or nervous systems ?
Ans. : Yes.
Ques. : When the spirit controls the hand of a Medium to write, is
the impression always made through the brain ?
Ans. : Sometimes the control is what is termed mechanical control ;
then the connection between arm and brain is entirely severed, and yet the
manifestation is made through what is called the nervous fluids , a "certain
portion of which is retained in the arm for the purpose of action.
When the manifestation is made through what is called the nervous
fluids only a certain portion is then retained in the arm for the purpose of
action. But when the manifestation is what is called an impressional mani¬
festation, then the brain and entire nervous system is used.

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS.
76 — Our Enclosed World was Created in the midst of “ The Waters,”
but the extent of the divided Waters outside our Water-dividing “Firma¬
ment ” has not. been revealed ; nor are we told if they were to remain or
not. The Revelation of St. John shows that our “Seas” will pass away
when the Water-Dividing Firmament opens. But “ the Pillars ” of “ The
Earth ” on which our World is set shall not be removed for ever.
77. — No thinker can believe the Bible is truly God’s Word if he
believes in anything of human invention which contradicts it! But few
understand the hypotheses of the whirling-globe.
If men were educated well they’d ne'er feign to believe
What they don’t understand, nor swell the throng who thus deceive.
78. — Our “ Seas” (Gen. i., 10) are in the centre of our World, about
25,000 miles round. “ When He described a circle on the face of the deep ”
is the best translation of Prov. viii. 27. The “ Earth ” is the “ Dry Land ”
which stands out of our “ Seas ” and forms our continents, isthmuses and
Islands, and the whole land in the “ Seas ” is unsupported and hangs
attached to “nothing.” The submerged Land which is beneath our
“ Earth ” contains Fire. Our “ Heavens and Earth ” are reserved for “ the
day of judgment ” (2 Peter iii 7, 10, and Matt, xxv., 4).
79. — Our atmosphere wholly surrounds the surfaces of the “Earth”
and “ Seas,” and it is encompassed by Skies, in which our lamp-like Lights
move around, and beneath which our clouds are carried in various directions
by wind. It is revealed that “ the Cloud ” and a swaddling band of thick

darkness” aie ahove our visible skies, within our “Heaven” or solid
“ Firmament,” which God made to divide the Waters outside it from our
Waters which their Maker called “ Seas ” within it. And thus it is revealed
that our “Seas” formed part of “The Waters ” whose surface was in
darkness before God said “ Let there be Light ” (Gen. iii. 1). ^Ye read of
“ the circle of Heaven ” in Job. xxii. 14, and elsewhere.
80. — The Sun and the Moon are “ Two Great Lights ” which God made on
the Fourth Day, and He made the Stars also.” The Sun is “ the greater Light ”
which rules the day : the Moon is “ the lesser Light " which rules the night.
The Sun-Light is simultaneously visible half-way round our Enclosed World’s
circular Heavens, when its greatest Forces are directly above and around
the Equator. And in March and September it simultaneously lights half¬
way round the Equatorial circumference mid-way betwixt the northern and
southern “ ends ” of our Enclosed World’s “ Earth ” and Heavens, causing
days of equal duration, followed by equal nights. Whether “ the Greater
Light ” reaches round the Heavens in one huge sheet, connectively, or in
any other way, we know not. It is revealed that the “ Tabernacle of the
Sun ” is “set ” in our heavens, and it possibly may be a supernal moving
apparatus reaching all round and through whose agency the Sun and
Moon “Lights” may appear in the Skies. And although the “Two
Great Lights ” vary in their nature and force, the same viaduct may
serve both, and it may be the agent of both Lights in bringing them and their
combined Forces to pass through every mortal's eye-formed tent,5' appearing
as lamp-like images.
81. — Certainly, “ the Divine Power is exercised in conformity with and
through the operation of natural laws,” because God is the Creator of
“ natural Laws."
82. — As a rule functional and not organic disorders are healed by
spiritistic “ healers ” or suggestion. But when it occurs otherwise, if it
ever does so as it is rarely claimed to ; in both cases it is accountable either
by trickery, or through demoniac agency.
83. — How whirling-globe professors have ever differed in their
calculations respecting their sun’s distance from their sea-and-earth globe
may be seen in “ The Latest Proofs the’ Seas ’ and ‘ Earth ’ are not a Globe,"
page 19 (price 2d.) But the amount of the yearly expenditure used in
trying to find out the astronomers’ huge sun’s distance was given in a
leading London daily paper some five or six years ago. And a similar
waste of capital, energy and time is still going on !
84. —The Sun is not a huge body, but a Light, which according to God’s
Creational economy appears as a Lamp within the limits of every mortal’s
eye-formed tent, through which it passes in its greater and lesser intensity
of power, causing Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter alternately , with
daily-varying lengths of appearance.
85. — In Acts vii. 22, we read that “ Moses was learned in all the wisdom
of the Egyptians.” Now the Egyptians and also the ancient Babylonians
and Chaldeans, and eventually the Greeks in their “ wisdom-religion ”
worshipped “ gods ” and “ demi-gods.” who were the heroes and “ the mighty
men ” of Greek Mythology — But mythology was not founded on mere myth ;
wonderful Astronomical symbols are enwrapt around the mysterious facts of
this ancient “ wisdom-religion.”

“THE EARTH”
(< GEOLOGICALLY CONSIDERED).
“ God called the Dry Land Earth,
and the gathering together of the
Waters called He Seas.” — Gen. i. 10.
The book of Genesis is the Foundation and the Key of
the whole Bible, and the basis of all reliable knowledge.
Its opening words of Revelation are : — “In the beginning
God Created the Heaven and the Earth. And the Earth
was (i.e. became ) without form and void.” This wonderful
information relates to “ the Heaven and the Earth ” of a world
that existed before ours. The Prophet Isaiah reveals that “ the
Earth ” of the Old World was not created shapeless and void,
but it became so, and like our “ World that now is,” it was
created to be inhabited, and it stood “out of the Water,
and in the Water.”
In Peter we learn, that truth — opposers are wilfully
ignorant of the Fact that “ the Earth ” which God created
“ in the beginning ” was eventually drowned, and “ the World
that then was, being overflowed with water, perished.”
How long the Creation, Life, Death, and deformation of
the Old World occupied is not revealed, nor is it revealed
how long darkness covered the Face of the Waters wherein
“ the Earth” of the Old World was entombed.
But we know that -while “ the Earth ” stood “ out of the
Water as well as “in the Water” it subsisted by means
of Water, and its dissolution was caused by entire sub¬
mersion in dark Waters.

The human brain is capable of understanding that it
cannot at present comprehend anything without a beginning
or an end. But according to God’s merciful goodness, all
men may seek and obtain Eternal Life through Jesus Christ,
and under everlasting conditions, hnmvledge of Eternal things
will doubtlessly be given to the Redeemed. But God has
revealed that “the Heavens and the Earth” were created by
Him in the past and consequently had a “beginning,” therefore
their Creation is ?iot past human comprehension. But evolu¬
tionists — in their folly— contradict the Creator’s Word !
The Revelation of the disintegration and “perishing”
of “ the Earth ” of a Former World beneath darkened
Waters in whose “Midst” God made our present World by
Jesus Christ: (Gen. i : 6-10; and John i: 3.); and the
disclosure that the Land-containing Waters within our
“ World that now is ” (which God called “ Seas ”), once
formed part of the Old World’s Waters is the Bible’s first
lesson, and the God-ordained ground-work of cosmic science
and divine enlightenment. It is revealed that The Creator
Created “The Earth” standing out of “ the Waters” when
He created “ The Heaven ” “ in the beginning,” but no
revelation is given relating to the Creation of “ The Waters.”
But it is revealed that
1. “The Earth” was drowned in “the Waters,” and
“ perished ” beneath their dark surface.
2. God Created our Enclosed World “ in the Midst
of the Waters .”
3. The Waters containing the Land within our World
were taken from “ the Waters ” (wherein “ The Earth ” of
the Old World was drowned) and divided from them by a
Water-dividing “ Firmament.”
4. “And God called the Firmament Heaven,” and made
our Dry Land “Appear” above our “Seas.” “And God
called the Dry Land Earth, and the gathering together of
the Waters called He Seas.”
5. The Dry Land which forms our continents, isthmuses,
and islands God “ called ” “ Earth ” after “ the Earth ” from
which it was divided. The Creator not only “ called ” our
“ Firmament ” “ Heaven ” and our Dry Land “ Earth ” after
“the Heaven and the Earth” which He created “ “ in the
beginning ,” but the Bible reveals other notable instances of
the same thing, as for instance, see Luke i : 32.
And our “ World is stablished that it cannot be moved.”
Psalm 93 : i. 96 : and 104 : 5.

The Bible describes the solid nature of the Water-divid¬
ing Firmament which encloses our World, and from sound
deductions based on divine Revelation, it evidently was made
of “ the Earth ” (as were “ the Pillars ” on which it was
“ set ”) close upon 0000 years ago when God divided “the
Waters from the Waters ” by it, to enclose our World. And
the annexed Chart bears visible evidence that the unshapely
Land within our “ Seas ” was divided from “ the Earth ” of
the Old World — as its intermixed strata and “ 'perished"
and petrified contents plainly testify. (See Chart).
Each Formation was evidently Created peculiar to itself,
and distinct from adjoining deposits above and below : but
where dissolution and separation have occurred certain
layers have been widely separated.
If distinctly dis-associated with the whirling “planet-
Earth ” (and “ Seas ”) theory, and admittedly based on
the Scriptures, geology would be a true science. This will
be seen from the enclosed geological Chart which gives the
reader good evidence that the Land in our present World
contains the remains of a former, and a larger World than
ours which, as revealed in the Bible’s first words, became
shapeless and “void.”
According to the tenets of geology there are four geo¬
logical Ages, and seventeen Systems.
The Ages are called :
1. Primary or Paheozoic :
(The Region of Fishes).
2. Secondary : or Mosozoic :
(The Region of Reptiles).
3. Tertiary : Cainozoic :
(The Region of Mammals).
4. The Modern Age :
(The Region of Man).
In twelve of the seventeen Systems in the Chart, sayjd
or chalk are mentioned as characteristics which, being
interpreted, mean that they were deposited from Water.
Now if our “Seas” and Land were a revolving cooling
“ planet ” as described by whirling-globites, it would have
been practically impossible for Mica-slate, or Sandstone, to
have formed on their “ planet,” nor could these have been
deposited as found at the present day since our Enclosed
World came into existence, less than 6000 years ago.
Their Formation which is mistakenly supposed to have
taken place in this World “that now is” — is attributed to

what is termed “ the Silurian epoch.” But they were doubtless
created “ in the beginning ,” and changed after “ the Earth”
was devastated in dark Waters long prior to our present
World’s existence.
Of course, Geologists would agree that this occurred
millions of years in the past, as they ignore the “ Six Days ”
Bible account of Creation by adhering to the whirling-globe-
planet hypothesis. Therefore they place their Silurian Epoch
many years prior to Creation Week. But the true explanation
is, that during the Earth’s dissolution beneath “ the Waters”
the Silurian rocks were sub-divided from the Palaeozoic rocks
before our Land and Water wasedivided into our Enclosed
World by our Water-dividing “Firmament” which God
made “ in the midst of the Waters" under 6000 years ago.
The known rocks in our World are of two kinds, hut it
is highly probable that there are others.. The Igneous or
Plutonic rocks are unstratified, massive, and uneven. They
include granite, porphyry, etc, and are supposed by whirling-
globites to have been in a melted state like lava by the action
of Fire, which on cooling formed the original crust of their
globe.
But in such case there could have been no water on the
surface of the Earth, and the surface would have been
similar to a corrugated cannon ball !
The Chart shows Granite — No. 1, and all the other six¬
teen Systems are above it.
2. The Stratified rocks, which have all been under
water; contain earthy matter from dead animals and plants
with atmospheric properties of an ethereal nature, showing
that death, decomposition, and petrifaction resulted from
droivning and long entombment in dark water, in harmony
with the Revelation of the Holy Scriptures. But that a
cooling revolving star could possibly either attract water,
or manufacture it is an assumption too ridiculous for con¬
templation, and too un-Scriptu ral for Christian credance.
The Lord Jesus Christ said that “ with God all things
are possible ; ” and even the sin-marred mind of a thought¬
less mortal who may know very little about the Scriptures
may believe this. And Christians who stand on Bible
grounds cannot doubt that their Creator Created every atom
of Matter, and all things visible and invisible by Jesus
Christ. But man has been given no knowledge of how God
Created anything.

’Tis revealed that the “ Heaven and the Earth ” God Created (Gen. i. 1),
But nought of “ the Waters’ ” Creation is related (Gen. i. 2) ;
The Earth ” in “ The Waters ” (which were darkened) was drowned,
And our World was built upon —and Made of — its ground ;
“ In the midst of the Waters” our “ Firmament ” vast (Gen. i. 6),
Was “ set ” on Earth — “ Pillars ” and “ Foundations ” — fast ;
And our “ Seas ” from “ the Waters ” our God did divide (Gen. i. 7),
And enclosed our whole World in from all that's outside ;
So our “ Seas,” and our Land which within them now lays,
Were “ Divided” ( not Created) and ‘‘Made in Six Days ” Gen. i 1;
But how God Created things no mortal knows (Exod. xx. 11. & II. Peter iii. 6),
Nor e’en how a small flower or blade of grass grows.
But as things that transmute we mortals can change,
God has placed Re-Creation within our brain's range.
“ With God all things are possible,” therefore it is not
a matter of what our Creater could do, but what He did.
Now from the Bible, and from evidential deductions
based on its Revelation it is shown that God Created “the
Heaven and the Earth ” in the long past — called — the
beginning.” And although there are beginnings to every
mortal thing, that “ Beginning” referred to in the first three
words of Genesis was doubtlessly “the beginning” of what
we call Matter. There is no revelation respecting the
Creation of Water, or the gases of which it is composed.
But it is revealed that our Enclosed World was made “ in
the Midst of “the Waters” “in’Six (Literal) Days.” Our
Water-Dividing “ Firmament ” called “ Heaven ” which
encloses our innate World was “Made” on the Second Day
of Creation Week nearly* 6000 years ago.
“ The Earth ” which God Created” in the beginning ” be¬
came “ without form and void ” beneath “ the Waters ” pro¬
bably many millions of years before our World existed. “The
Waters ” were darkened, and God brought Light upon them
to make the First Day of “ Creation Week.” And the Waters
of which our “ Seas ” were “ Made,” were divided from those
pre-existing Waters by a strong and solid structural Water-
dividing “ Firmament ” which God called “ Heaven.” And
God gathered together our divided Waters unto “ One place ”
which is a central position in the midst of motional “atmos¬
phere,” “ skies ” and “ clouds ” which inclusively are termed
“ the Heavens ” wherein the “ Lights ” appear, passing round
and round in their regular circumferential courses. The
* It is so nearly approaching to 6000 years since our Enclosed World
was Made, that the fulfilment of Daniel vii., and the Second coming of the
Lord Jesus Christ may be at hand. And the Emperor of Germany's
Declaration of War, on Saturday night, August 1st, 1914, and his War
A ctions since — as well as his words, which expressed “ very great things ”
make one wonder if it may not be the beginning of the final conflagration.

Land in our World was evidently divided into it in the
divided Waters which Form our “ Seas." f Therefore neither
its atoms, nor its substantial body were created during
Creation week. And it came into our World “ without form
and void.’’
On the Third Day God Made the Land “appear” above
the surfaces of our “ Seas ” to Form our continents, isthmuses
and islands. “ And God called the Dry Land Earth, and
the gathering together of the Waters (unto one place, or
central position) called He Seas.”
The Old World was larger than ours,- and its Earth was
not Created “without form and void,” but it became so
beneath the darkened Waters in which it was submerged,
and wherein our present World was created, out of, and upon
its remains. And it is evident that our “ Firmament *’ and
“ The Pillars ” and “ Foundations ” on which it was “set”
“ in the midst of the Waters,” and also the “ Land ” within
our “Seas,” once formed part of “the Earth” of the Old
World which was submerged in “ the AVaters,” and there
became shapeless and “void.”
Huge masses of 11 the Earth" which God Created “in
the beginning” became deformed and divided in “the
Waters,” but the unimpaired layers of even strata which
have been found in different parts of our World’s Land both
in the past and the present testify that it was not Created
shapeless, but became so. Stratified Earth-Matter which
became imbedded, evidently hardened after depression, and
by this means was transformed into lime-stones, slates, marl,
etc. And the fossil remains of animals and plants which
existed in the Former AATorld have been kept from the times
of their respective depositions, as in a museum, hermetically
sealed in the collapsed, infolded and deformed Earth’s strata.
And these things are object-lessons for the Education of those
who seek after True cosmical knowledge based on the
Creator’s Word which cannot lie !
“ Speak unto the Earth, and it shall teach thee and the
fishes of the Sea shall declare unto thee ” Job. xii. 8.
The Figure below illustrates the fact that prior to dis¬
placement, and consequent alteration in shape and condition
(through burial in water), and prior to perishing and petri-

faction of their living contents, all the different strata of
“ the Earth ” which God Created “ in the beginning ” were
Created of perfectly horizontal shape, and arranged in layars
one above the other like the leaves in a book. And from
well-based deductions we may perceive that “ the Earth ”
of the Old World was not globular.
Alluvium.
Diluvium.
Pliocene.
Miocene.
Eocene.
Chalk.
The unshapeliness of the Land which is in the “ Seas ”
in our World is obviously due to its long entombment in the
dark and consequently dead waters which overflowed it and
caused its deformity long before it was divided within the
divided and re-illuminated Waters, on the Second Day of
Creation Week to form our present Enclosed World.
This explains why the beds are not found in the order
in which they were evidently originally Created. Every
mortal can see the unshapeliness of the “Earth” which
protrudes out of the Waters of our World ; and in the
Bible we learn that, it became “ without form and void,” and
how it became so. The Bible also reveals that God
“ gathered together ” the waters which He had divided into
our World unto “ one place ” — or central position — and
called them “Seas.” And God compassed our “Seas ” with
“ bounds ” in the midst of our atmosphere. And they contain
the uneven-shaped Land which was divided into our World
within them. It is further revealed that the portion of the
Old World’s Earth which came into our present World within
the divided Waters “ hangs ” unsupported “ upon nothing ”
within them. And our “Dry Land” which God called
“Earth” is resuscitated by the Light-and-Life-charged at¬
mosphere with which it comes in touch wherever it
“appears” above the circumferential “bounds” of the
“ gathered ” Waters which God called “ Seas.”
And the Land which is miraculously held within our
“ Seas ” is evidently part of that “ Earth ” which God Created
“ in the beginning ” which became “ without form and void ”
beneath darkened Waters. And the uneven-shaped Land
which God made to “ appear ” above our Seas’ surfaces to
form our continents, isthmuses, and islands, God called
“ Earth ” after “ the Earth ” from which it was separated.
Judging from the nature of the chips which fall from
above our Skies through thunder and other forces, and from

Scriptural deductions, we have good evidence that our Water-
dividing “ Firmament ” which God called “ Heaven,” was
also formed of part of “ the (submerged) Earth ” “ in the
midst of the Waters,” as are “ the Pillars ” and Foundations
on which our World is 11 set."
But the Land within our “ Seas,” and the “ Earth ” stand¬
ing out above them into the atmosphere of our Enclosed
World have certainly undergone further alterations in shape
since Creation Week. This has occurred through innu¬
merable disturbances and upheavals which have caused land
to sink and new islands to rise up.
And it is practically certain that huge tracts of Dry Land
(Dry portions, which God called “ Earth ”) have sunk beneath
the “ Seas,” and consequently, our great continents (which
were once conjoined) have separated, and where large tracts
of Land have sunk (as probably is the case between Eng¬
land and America, and elsewhere), our outstanding “ Earth ”
has become widely divided.
The causes of these disturbances may be attributed to
magnetic, electric, and other natural and supernal forces, as
well as to continuous decay largely caused by the great
devastator — Oxygen.
Then again, within our World’s land is stored fire (II.
Pet. iii. 7), which by its continuous supernal nature, doubt¬
lessly helps to cause innate disturbances and outward up¬
heavals. And this agrees with the Bible, and with the fact that
the Land in our Enclosed World once formed part of
“ the Earth ” of the World which God Created “ in the
Beginning” which perished in dark Waters, and became
“without form, and void” therein. But neither the length
of time occupied in our World’s Creation, life, or en¬
tombment are revealed. But we have evidence of
universal sudden death of prehistoric creatures within
our Land which was divided into our World within
our “Seas” which were divided from “ the Waters”
wherein “ the Earth ” of the Old World once stood “ in the
Water and out of the Water” in shapely form , like
a ship at Sea — with no deformities, or intermixed, twisted,
and crushed stratum. “ The Earth ” of the Old World
became submerged beneath ‘‘the Waters” above whose surface
it once stood, and “ the Waters ” were darkened, and probably
remained so during many millions of years. “The Earth,”
in its grave of dark Waters evidently collapsed, and became
divided and intermixed in, and crushed by Ice. But nearly
6000 years ago God restored Light upon “ the Waters ” and

formed our World in their “ midst ” by dividing part of “ the
Waters ” and “ the Earth ” of the Old World to form our
“ Land” and “ Seas,” within a solid water-dividingFirmament.
And after God had gathered our “Seas” into the centre of
our atmosphere He made our Dry Land “ appear ” above
their surfaces to form our continents and islands ; “ And
God called the Dry Land Earth, and the gathering together
of the Waters called He Seas.” No revelation is given of the
Creation of “ the Waters,” or their extent — Nor are we told
the size of “ the Earth ” which was drowned in dark Waters.
But we know, like all things that become disintegrated through
the process of perishing — even in undarkened water — the
result of separation frequently exposes their innate contents
to the surface, and things (from atomic to gigantic sizes) that
were originally widely divided, may become intermixed.
Therefore, geologists who base their tenits on the Scriptural
account of Creation can neither affix dates of when the
various strata of the Land within the “ Seas ” of our World
were formed, nor when and where its various contents
became divided and distributed, and its (once even ) strata
deformed ; but Ice formation may have caused some of the
deformation. It is not revealed if the inundation of “the
Earth” of the Old World was caused by Satan’s revolt. But
we know from the unimpeachable evidences of the Bible,
and Nature, that our Land is part of “ the Earth” which
became “ without form and void ” long before it was brought
into our world in our “ divided Waters.”
The Bible’s opening Words to all the Nations
Herein are quoted oft to swell their tone,
And show the value of the Revelations
Which the Creator first to man made known.
And when we teach a system Truth may test,
Its basal tenets should be first impressed.
The numbers in the chart are as they occur in the order
of Nature : the First is last.
All that is revealed to us relating to “ the Earth,” is that
God created it and “ the Heaven” “in the beginning,”
and that it was not created shapeless. But, I repeat, we
have no revelation of how far back in the past the Creation of
“ the Heaven and the Earth ” of the former world commenced,
nor how long a period its Creation occupied. Nor are we
told anything of its size, or what was beyond that “ World
that then was,” nor how long “ the Earth ” existed standing
above “the Waters,” in shapely form, as it was Created. The
Bible only reveals that the “ Old World ” perished and
became shapeless and “void” beneath “the Waters” in
whose “ midst ” our present World was “ Made ” by the Lord

Jesus Christ under His Father’s supervision and Commands.
And our Enclosed World (whose Land and Waters once
formed part of the former World) was Made “ in the Midst of
the Waters ” which formed the Old World’s grave !
The wonderful Revelations given to us in the Holy
Scriptures relating to the origin of our World’s “ Land,”
“ Seas,” and “ Earth ” are entirely endorsed by the evidences
of all known phenomena, and by the irrefutable testimony
geologists have exhumed from the Earth itself. And when
their discoveries are duly considered, their great achieve¬
ments — including their deep borings, and their evidential
Finds — are indeed marvellous ! (See “ Chaos,” T.E.W., No. 4).
According to Geikie’s text book the deepest boring that has
been made into our World's Land was 5730 feet at Schladebach,
near Diirrenberg, and it is possible there has been a deeper one
in recent years. If man could pierce still deeper, further
evidential trophies from the remains of the Former World
would doubtlessly be exhumed, and further exhumations of
dead and petrified creatures and plants which once existed in
a much larger World than ours, would probably be discovered.
But, from data now possessed it is evident that through
recurring disturbances, and upheavals of the Land, leeds
have been upturned and deposited in positions foreign to
those in which thev were created.

Between the Plutonic rocks and those containing prim¬
itive fossils are extensive layers of slate, gneiss, mica, etc.
These are stratified and declare no obvious signs of past
life. They are termed Metamorphic Rocks (M. Diagram A),
and are often found on the surface exposed, and sometimes
form Mountains, and Peaks. The Plutonic rocks frequently
perforate and penetrate, by veins , the metamorphic rocks and
likewise all the stratified rocks that expand on the surface.
Some of these intrusive formations are known as trap
dykes, and occassionallv, a flow of lava to the surface may be
seen at the present day (T Diagram A.), and when the flow is

of great intensity, it forms volcanos. The latter are conical
hills, or mountains, which are usually truncated at the tips,
wherein are funnels or pipes into the earth which bring forth
streams of Molten rock, gasses, and hot vapours, etc. (V. L.
Diagram A).
In the illustration the moved strata of 1, 2, 3 and 4,
have exposed what was beneath to the surface (as coal some¬
times is), and it must be remembered that these “ dislocations ”
were certainly caused by subterranean upheavals.
“ In the Beginning God Created the Heaven and the
Earth, and the Earth ivas (or more correctly, became) without
form, and void.” The Prophet Isaiah reveals that ‘‘ the
Earth ” was not created “ in vain ” and “ void,” but for the
express purpose of habitation. No mortal man even would
build a house without form and void. But not only the
better translation* viz., became in the place of the word was,
and the Prophet Isaiah’s revelation, but also the evidences of
our God-given Senses as well as the facts of Nature clearly
expose the error of supposing that our Creator Created “ the
Earth ” without form and void. The Creator has revealed
that “ the Earth ” was “ without form and void ” in the midst
of the Waters ” when He commenced to make our present
World “ in Six Days,”t and this Revelation shows us the
cause of the shape, condition and contents of the Land in our
“ Seas,” and the “ Earth ” (or “ Dry Land ”) which “ appears ”
above their circumferential surfaces.
The inspired A postle Peter also reveals that “scoffers”
would rise up charged with desire to disprove God’s account
of His created Works.
* The verb “ to be ” is not here distinguished from the verb “ to
become” also rendered “ came .” The Cosmogony of Genesis, is in flat
contradiction to that of the so-called “ Creation-Tables,” preserved in the
epic poem in honour of Merodach, the patron-pod of Babylon. And this
corruption of primitive truth which had been handed down by tradition is
preserved, and valued. But the Divine Account by Him Who Created All
things (both visible and invisible) by Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of Mankind,
given through God’s Holy Spirit by the hand and pen of Moses, is flouted to
the winds, and utterly rejected for mere man-made theories based on the
wildest fallacies, and the most fabulous romances of pagan origen ! But
God from His Works none can sever which He made by Christ, His Son.
Facts and Truth shall live for ever ! When untruth is overcome.
t God, having made our Enclosed World by Jesus Christ “ in the
midst of the Waters ” in Six Days nearly 6,000 years ago, is a thing most
wonderful to consider, and it should remind us that we must be approaching
the time when the Lord. Jssus Christ will again appear. And the Redeemed
will meet Him in the. Air. We are foretold that great swiftness of Divine
Action will again be exhibited, and those who will be ‘‘caught up” from
among the living will be “ changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.”

The revealed Modus Operandi of those “ scoffers ” re¬
ferred to in IT. Peter iii. 3, was that of scoffing at the fact
that “ the Heavens were of Old ” which God Created “ in the
beginning : ” and assuming “ ignorance ” of the divine
Revelations of the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ,
and t lie prophetic folding up of our solid water-dividing
Firmament.
It is also foretold that our “ Seas ” shall pass away and
“he no more.” And the sequence from all this fore-knowledge
is that when these things come to pass 11 the Waters ” from
which our “ Seas ” were divided will also have sunk or been
entirely cleared away. And “ the Earth ” (from which our
Land was divided within the divided Waters which form the
“ Seas ” in our present World,) will (together with our opened
up, and renewed World) be once more, under the Canopy of
“ the Heavens ” which “ were of Old." But “ the Holy City,”
the “ New Jerusalem,” will descend bodily from Heaven.
(Rev. iii. 12 and xxi. 2).
We have also the fore-knowledge that although “the
Earth ” and the “ Pillars ” and “ Foundations ” of “ the
Earth ” on which our World rests will “ not be removed
forever :” the Land which was divided hanging “upon
nothing” within our “Seas” (which God divided within
“ the Waters ” to form our present World and whose outstand¬
ing parts God called “ Earth ”) — will he, shaken and moved.
And based on the knowledge that our “ Firmament ” will be
opened and that our central “ Seas” are to pass auiay, it is a
reasonable deduction that the action of the “ Seas ” when
they pass aivay by divine ordination, may be the means of
moving our Land, and setting it upon, and annexing it to the
solid basis of our “ Firmament ” where it is “ set ” upon and
attached to those everlasting “Pillars of Earth” on which
our Enclosed World rests.
None but the foolish or thoughtless could expect a fellow
creature to show what is beyond “the Waters” in whose
midst our Enclosed World was “Made: ” or the extent of
those Waters, or what upholds them. Because we have no
revelation of what is beyond them — or if anything is beyond
them — This our Creator, according to His Infinite Wisdom,
has not revealed to His Creatures : —
Eternal things, of any kind,
No man could comprehend,
Nor one conceive with mortal mind,
How everything could end :
Our Minds must be enlarged we know.
Ere God to us these things could show

“ The Earth ” which once stood out of “ the Waters ”
beneath “ the Heavens ” which “ were of Old ” was drowned
beneath those Waters, and as Peter reveals “ the World that
then was, being overflowed with Water perished.” And our
World was “ Made” upon, and partly of, its ruins. And the
Creator Made the “ Two Great Lights” and our Life-charged
atmosphere, on the 4th Day of Creation Week within our
Enclosed World, which He made -in the midst of “ the
Waters.”
And that our World’s a Star in “space”
Is Satan's lie — as all may trace !
All the so-called “ space ” that man can trace is within
our Enclosed World, and within the limits of man’s eve-
bounds. But we clearly understand that “ the Heavens ” ivhich
“ were of old” were above the divided Waters ivhich were
left outside our Water-dividing “ Firmament ” on the
Second Day of our World’s Creation Week. But “The
Heavens ” which “ were of old ” have been seen by no
ordinary mortal’s eye. If they were our visible Heavens,
men could not have affected ignorance respecting them. And
the idea that Peter refers to Noah’s Flood in the 3rd chapter
of his Second Book is erroneous.
In his First Book he makes reference to “ the Deluge ”
and exposes the fact that the “Earth” in our Enclosed
World did not “perish” and become “without form ” as it
is, and “ void ” in darkened Waters, when “ Noah’s Flood
took place.”
Nor did all men and Creatures perish then, eight men
and women were saved as well as male and female of all
living Creatures. And that vegetation was not killed in the
days of Noah is evidenced from many Scriptural deductions.
For instance, when Noah sent a Dove from the Ark it returned
with “a plucked olive leaf” in its mouth !
But when we turn to the First Words of the Bible, we find
that our World “ that now is ” was made in the midst of those
Waters wherein “ the Earth” (from which our Land was
divided) really “ 'perished,” and became separated and
deformed. And “ the Waters were beneath those “ heavens”
which were “ of old ” and which were darkened, and death
reigned within them. Darkness was upon the Face (i.e.
surface ) of “ the Waters ” before they were “ divided ” by our
“ Firmament ” being placed in their “ Midst.” But it is not
revealed how long darkness continued beneath “ the Heavens”
which “ were of Old,” nor how long “ the Earth ” remained
beneath” the (darkened) Waters.” In fact, Time, or the

“ Ages,” fas divided by the Sun and Moon “ Lights ” and
the Stars, within our “ Firmament ” was Created expressly
for and in our World.
Therefore Time, did not exist in our Enclosed World
prior to its Creation in onr Heavens when the great divisional
system of the “ Lights ” was Created on the Fourth Day. Our
“ Heaven ” (i.e., “ Firmament ”) is not “ the Heavens ” which
“were of old.” The latter were Created “ in the Beginning.”
The Former (which was only called “ Heaven )” was not even
Created in the beginning of Creation Week, but on the Second
Day! “The Earth” was Created “ in the beginning,” and
the Land in our present World once formed part of it, and
our “Seas” were divided from Waters which existed before
Creation Week.
The Land-containing “ Seas ” in our present World were
not divided from the old World’s Land and Waters, “ in the
Midst of the Waters ” in any “ beginning,” but on the Second
Day of Creation Week. On the Third Day God Made our
Land “ appear ” above our “ Seas,” standing out all round
into the atmosphere to make our Dry Land, which its Creator
called “ Earth.”
But in the former World, “ the Earth ” stood “ in the
Water and out of the Water,” evidently more like a huge
vessel. It further seems evident that there were solid
foundations beneath those vast Waters wherein the Old
World was drowned. This, we may judge, from the revealed
solidity of the foundations which are beneath the “ pillars of
the Earth ” on which our World rests. But there is no
revelation relating to “ the Heavens and the Earth,” and “ the
Waters ” of the former World save that they existed before
our present World. And that “ the Earth ” was drowned
and became “ wfithout form and void” in “the (darkened)
Waters” in whose “midst” our World was “Made." And
if any further knowledge has been given to our ancestors, it
has been lost.
The Word of God clearly states on its first page that God
brought Light upon the face of “the dark Waters” to Make
the 1st Day (Gen. i. 1-3).
And God Made our Water-dividing Firmament “ in the
midst ” of those Waters on the Second Day. On the Third
Day God gathered together the Waters in our World “ unto
One place ” in the centre of our atmosphere, and made the
Land, which teas within them, protrude out above them.
And God called the “ Firmament ” “ Heaven,” which, together
with the ethereal Skies are termed “ the 1 leavens ” ; and the
“ Dry (projecting) Land.” God called “ Earth.”

And the “ gathered together ” atmosphere-and-sky-
surrounded- Water within our World — (which God had
divided from “ the Waters ” which were left outside our
World’s Water-dividing “Firmament”) God called “Seas.”
God made the “ Lights ” to divide the light in our World on
the Fourth Day ; and all Vegetation, Birds, Beasts, Fishes,
Insects, and all living Creatures, and Things — including
Man — God Made on the Fifth and Sixth Days. But we know
that our World’s Land contains the decayed and petrified
remains of creatures and vegetation which are wholly foreign
to our race, which must have existed in a former World.
We may, thereby, see that the Land in our “ divided ” “ Seas ”
is a part of “ the Earth ” which “perished,” and became
disintegrated beneath “ the Waters ” of the Old World which
God created “ in the beginning." Therefore, the Creator's
account of His Own Created Works which He Created, and
Made by Jesus Christ as well as the Facts of Nature entirely
disprove the Modern theory that the “ Earth ” (and “ Seas ”)
are a “ cooling globe ” — or a swiftly “rotating and revolving
planet ’’-star. Such a “ globe ’’-star (as already stated) would
have been Waterless ! Whereas, primal life bears undeniable
evidence of water sustenance, and sudden universal death.
Fishes, as the earliest vertebrates, are found together with
insect remains with wings, and also the Sea Scorpion in what
are termed the “ Sedimentary” rocks. And vegetable and
animal Fossils have also been found therein. Through long
separation from Light-charged atmosphere beneath dark
Waters “ the Earth ” became sodden and broken, and parts of
it that were widely divided before it “ perished ” were annexed
and intermixed after it became “ void ” — through the absence
of binding force.
One huge divided portion of the Old World’s Earth
undoubtedly forms the Land and “ Earth ” of our present
Enclosed World. Consequently the beds are not found
deposited all in their primal order. And as already shown
the strata is often found crushed, and bent about, even as
pieces of dough might be distorted out of shape, and divided.
Not only huge masses , but also atoms of the deformed and
divided Old World’s Earth are found thousands (or may be,
Millions) of miles from where they were Created “ in the
beginning.”
Both God’s Written Word and His Created Works prove
our Waters and our Land were divided from Waters and
Land which were outside their divider, (or “ Firmament ”)
which its Creator called “Heaven.” These facts account for
all geological data, and for newer beds having been deposited

upon the upturned tilted edges of earlier rocks. But where-
ever deposits , or the exhumed finds of geologists are found :
whether they are discovered upon or near the Earth’s surface
or a mile or two beneath it, or in any other position it is
certain that, in many cases, they have been either quietly
bourne, or swiftly precipitated from where they were origin¬
ally Created to the spots where they are found. And it is
evidently possible that either atoms, or large masses from some
of the lowest parts of the Old World’s submerged “ Earth ”
(which may possibly have been many millions of miles in
height, and breadth) may be found on, or near the surface of
the outstanding Land which is in our present World. The
intermixation and condition of the deformed strata of our
Land (both wet or dry) proves that it came into our World
as we find it within our “Seas” without support, and
“ without form.” And from the Holy Record, as well as the
visible facts of Nature, we know that it had become “ void ”
(Gen i. 2). But God made our “ Dry Land ” “ appear ”
standing out above our “ Seas ” ’ surfaces which are sur¬
rounded by the moving Sun-Light which (via our atmosphere)
divides Life-Forces (including Heat and Light), into each
mortal’s eye-bounds and impregnates the whole sur¬
faces of our “ Seas ” and the protruding Land which
the Creator called “ Earth.” (Gen. i : 10).

Sir Oliver Lodge, and other reliable witnesses have
frequently beheld spirits materialize before their eyes. One
“ seducing spirit ” at least, visits Mr. R. J. Campbell who
says : —
I am conscious of someone’s presence in the mysterious unseen at this
moment. Who is it ? I have always believed it to be Jesus ; it is no vague
abstraction, but a definite, living, personal being. I work under his orders.
Am I wrong (in supposing it to be Jesus ?) If so, I have been deluded into
doing a good many things which otherwise I would never have attempted.
Someone is directing me from the spirit world : if not Jesus, who is it?
Dr. Joseph Parker, Mr. Campbell’s predecessor, and Dr. F. B. Meyer were
also similarly deluded by Seducing Spirits.
By a spirit personating the Holy Ghost, Mr. Price, of
the Agapemone, was led to exclaim : — “ In me you see Christ
in the Flesh ; by me, and in me, God has redeemed all flesh
from death.”

Before closing I must draw attention to the existence of
people who affect to be mediums in order to make money, and
such carry on the business by mere trickery.
Now these are very useful to atheistic materialists who
deny God’s Word, and assert that there are no such things
as Spirits. But Spiritism bears evidence of the truth of the
Holy Scriptures, and “ Scoffers ” are fully aware of this fact !
Therefore they are making every effort to lead the world to
believe that Spiritism is nothing but the sheerest human
humbug imaginable.
Let us then be ivarned against seeking to hold com¬
munion with these dark spirits through their wdtches or
mediums, but rather let us seek for grace to obey the Divine
Will of our Creator, through the Lord Jesus Christ. And
let us strive against sin, and seek for the guidance of God’s
Holy Spirit in the Old Paths, prayerfully searching the
Scriptures daily that we may gain therefrom knowledge
unto Eternal Life through Jesus Christ in whom alone is
immortality.

enemies of the revived Israelitish Nation in the east before the Millennium :
Gog and Magog, Rev. xx : 8, represent Satan’s agents at the end of the
Millennium.
87. — Supernal Electricity and Magnetism — swifter than anything we
call motion — are evidently, prominent factors in both the causation and
action of Circulating life within our World
Electric and Magnetic Laws are stable,
But Newton's “gravitation" was a Fable.
Many falsehoods are woven within the “ planet-Earth ” (and “ Seas ”)
fable, but none of its inventors have dared to state that they Made our World.
And who could dare to make such a statement but its Creator, aud Maker ?
None ! but “planet-Earth ”-ites daringly contradict their Creator’s Word.
88. — The ancient Church of Rome upheld Scriptural Cosmogony. But
many professors of the Protestant Church have dared to tamper with God’s
Word : and the Creator's account of His Creation of our Enclosed World is
set aside for man’s false teaching—

89. — Wars and rumours of Wars, earthquakes in many places, Sea-
roarings, and Signs in the Heavens, the Lord from Heaven gave as Signs of
the end of this dispensation, and His Second Coming (Matt. 24. Mark xxi :
10, and 1 Cor. xv : 47).
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ did not Make our beautiful Enclosed
World under His Father’s Commandment to be a scene of bloodshed and
war.
Since men first rejected their God as their King, they have suffered
thereby — one, and all — As nought could be perfect while sin reigns o’er sin,
in a mortal successor of Saul. Sin has brought us to the awful European
War and bloodshed of to-day !— August 27th a.d , 1914.
90. — Upon the appearance of fogs, rain sleet, hail, or snow, the electrical
state of the atmosphere is NEGATIVE. It then changes to POSITIVE, and
back again to negative, alternating every four or five minutes. These
changes occur on the approach of a thunder cloud : the atmosphere is highly
electrical, one stratum of a cloud may be positive and another negative, and it
is the interchange which produces the electric spark — Lightning— and the
after noise which is heard called thunder.
Atmospheric Electricity varies, being stronger in winter than in
summer. In fact the amount increases wdth cold.
It is variable during the day, weak at sunrise and strong at sunset. It
increases with altitude, being positive at great heights. The difference is
caused by evaporation.
If water is evaporated the rising vapour is positive, the vessel which
contained the water is negative : The vapour ascending to form clouds is
positive and the earth negative. It is from this simple source that electrical
accumulation takes place which arms the storm with terrific power.
Ammonia (NH .3.) is composed of Nitrogen and Hydrogen, which do not
readily combine.
Small quantities of Ammonia can be produced by mixing the two gasses
together aud sending a discharge of electricity through them This is
precisely what the lightning does. It produces Ammonia in the air, which
aids plants to assimilate nitrogen and to form many interesting compounds
which play an important part in the atmospheric processes which affect
plants and animal life.
Many earthly blessings are primarily due to Evaporation. These
include the clouds, the Electrical lightning and the voice of the thunder.
Much is dependent upon the Sun which influences the wind directionally by
its heat currents,
. These phenomena could not exist on a revolving rotating globe of land
and water, as an enclosed and stationary area is a necessity unto the existence
of Divergent air Strata.
91. — The bursting of a thunder cloud with its accompaning Thunder
and Lightning has never been scientifically explained ; but the explanation
is more than hinted at in Job xxxviii, 25-26. “In hurricanes and typhoons
there is admittedly a vortex in the centre in both cases.” These as well as
ordinary thunder clouds are largely affected and controlled by the vortex
motion of the great ethereal currents which constantly circulate around the
N. & S. Ends of the heavens. It is due to the continued ascending vapour-
charged currents to the more elevated layers of the atmosphere which
cause condensation, and the fall of torrents of rain.

This could not be explained in harmony with the whirling globe
hypothesis, because on this hypothesis there would be tremendous rushing
of the wind to the rear so that all vapour would fly off into space.
The high tensing is due to atmospheric electricity interchanging
positive and negative to renew the equilibrium which has been modified and
disturbed by evaporation.
But what about the noise of the thunder ?
Many explanations have been given, one is that it is due to the clashing
together of different clouds, but as they are carried in the same general
direction by the same steady wind this would seem impossible. The thunder
itself is due to the electric current suddenly separating the elements which
clash together again, some layers being relatively positive and negative. This
can I think be shown on a small scale by a frictional electrical machine as
the Wimhurst. If the poles are nearly approximated, loud snaps and light
are produced.
In answer to the question why in England thunder storms are not
evolved locally but invariably come from a distance is that thunder storms
in temperate regions could not be produced by land evaporation, they must
come from the seas. By the ever renewed operation of evaporation the
waters of the ocean spread themselves over the earth to “ replenish it," and
to cause storms accompanied by lightening and thunder which are absolutely
necessary to the well-being and life of mankind in distributing necessary
electric forces.
92. — Dr. Edward Haughton well shows how the word “Lord" is
erroneously substituted for the word “ Jehovah.” This, he says is even done
when it makes two Lords in the same verse. And in both our Versions the
definite article “ the ’ is frequently omitted where it should be translated,
and put in where it is not in the original. And furthermore the prepositions
“ of ” and “ from ” are used in a confused sense to sujjport various man¬
made doctrines : of which “ three co-equal persons in one God ” is a fair
specimen. John 14: 28; and 10: 29.
93. — We have evidence that Adam, Seth, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Hannah
and all the Prophets and Apostles knew the True Cosmogony of our World,
and that Jesus Christ endorsed and quoted them ("John v. 46-47). The
Apostle Paul was “ caught up ” into the Heavens at his conversion.
And with reference to the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, it will come down
from God out of “ Heaven."
The words “ for Ever and Ever ” are applied to God Sixteen times in
the New Testament : once to the reign of the Saints : and three times to
the unredeemed.
94 — Scriptual Baptism is not the means of grace to an unconscious
subject. But it is the God-ordained outward sign of inward grace enjoined
upon the Christian Believer. Baptism is the Seal of Belief and the latter
must exist before it is sealed. “He that believeth and is baptised shall be
saved.” Mark xvi : 16.
Fidus, an African Bishop, introduced infant sprinkling a.d. 257. And
at the Famous Westminster Assembly ad. 1643 the question whether
baptism should be by sprinkling infants, or the voluntary immersion of
adult3, was put to the vote, and infant sprinkling gained by one vote.
Dr. Johnson when protesting against the popish practice of withholding
the Cup from the “ laity,” said : “ they are as well warranted to make this
change, as we are in substituting infant sprinkling in the place of the
immersion of Believers.” The Ed. neither represents, nor belongs to any
sect.

95. — “ The Enclosed World ” contains evidence of the truth of Bible
Cosmogony in harmony with the Facts of Nature, as understood and
alone taught by the Ed. (E. A. M. Blount).
The Rich .Man and Lazarus parable is no lying figure.
96 — Our Lord's words “ in Earth, as in Heaven” bear evidence
that our Water-dividing Firmament was also formed of “ the Earth ” of the
Old World, and that Heaven as well as our innate World is an Enclosed
Place having limitations.
97. — Degrees of longitude decrease south of the Equator proving the
“Seas” are not flat and endless; and their "whole" Heaven-surrounded
extent is known
“ The Dry Land ” which God made “ appear ” above the “ Seas” ’ sur¬
faces to form our continents and islands God called Earth. But not the
Land within the “ Seas ” The words “ whole,” and “ one ” also denote
limitation. — Dan. ix : 12 ; and Gen. i : 9.
9S. — “The Earth and the Heaven” have not “always existed,” God
Created them “ in the beginning ” Our World was Made nearing 6000
years ago. “In the beginning” may be innumerable millions of years
in the past. Time, which was made in, and for, our World, will cease.
99. — A Christian physically dead still lives. His spirit returns unto
God alive. Luke xvi : 19-31 ; and xx: 37-3S. Relating to the devil, false
prophet, and beast, see Rev. xix : 20 ; and xx: 10. Also see Luke xvi : 26 ;
and Rev. xxii : 11.
About 30 years ago a preacher led the Ed. to believe in the annihilation
of the unredeemed. But the Rich Man and Lazarus-parable, and other
Scriptures subsequently showed that all who reject God’s offer of the forgive¬
ness of their sins, in the Name of Jesus Christ, and persistently forget God
and His Word, and follow evil will be punished. But the duration of the
punishment (which will differ according to merit) is not revealed. Therefore,
it is best to take the Scripture’s wording without comment as a rule with
respect to this subject, and use our every effort in making known the way of
Salvation through Jesus Christ who is “ the Way” of escape from future
judgments which will be fearful in any case. And regarding “sleep”
see Luke xvi: 19-31, Isa. xiv : 9-10; Ezek xxii . 21; Rev. vi : 9-10; and
Heb. xii: 23.
Jesus Christ said— “ Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after
that have no more that they can do. But I forewarn you whom ye shall
fear : Fear Him which after He hath killed hath power to cast in hell, i.e.
tartarus ; Yea, I say unto you, fear Him “ Luke xii : 4-5
The Ed. once wrote regularly for a Mag. to explain away all such
passages as the above. But the parable of “ the liich Man and Lazarus," and
“ the pains of hell” (likened to travail in birth), and also — “ for-ever ”
(Ages of Ages), and the whole Book of Revelations caused insurpassable
difficulties and doubts that could not be quelled If there is never any con¬
sciousness during the death of the body the above quoted and named Scriptures
would be, not only misleading, but false. Satan’s imprisonment during the
Lord Jesus Christ’s Millennial Reign of 1000 years “ in Earth,” and his
future punishment with the false Prophet, and the Beast (Antichrist) after
the Millennium is clearly foretold. Then and not till then — will our
Saviour have accomplished what His Father gave Him to do, viz . “to
destroy the Works of the devil" And those who do not seek God and
ask for Grace and Faith to trust His Son in no mere nominal sense
are on the devil s platform. There are but two sides — Christ’s, and
satan’s. “ Who-so-ever will ” can escape the wrath to come : but
it now appears to the writer that all who will not heed “ The
Way ” God has appointed for their escape and wilfully neglect God's
Salvation, face judgment and death (which is separation), John v : 24.
Mrs. White’s annihilation, and Sabbath doctrines, Rom. xiv. 3 ;
Luke xvi : 28, etc. ; and Ireneeus expose.

TELESCOPE LIMITATIONS.
In January, 1913, I wrote on the above subject to a most notable firm of
opticians, and on the 23rd of the same month I received their reply.
I asked the firm if it could supply me with a telescope which would
enable me to view from London to Brighton, and I agreed to place the
instrument as high above the earth as would be necessary.
In the reply I received it was stated that it was “impossible to state
whether Brighton could be seen from London.’’ I also suggested that “of
course, whatever distance can be seen horizontally, under equal atmospheric
conditions, would be the same vertically, as the telescope’s power, like that of
the human eye, could not be ‘ stretched ’ beyond its limits.”
But to this I received no answer. Therefore I wrote again, and put the
same question more plainly, and quite apart from my letter I wrote the
queries on a separate page.
In reply, the firm’s representative said: “The questions you asked are
very difficult to answer. Briefly, they (the firm) would reply as follows : —
‘ Provided there is no obstruction there is no limit to the range of the
telescope (vertically), that is to say that, with clear atmosphere the sun,
moon, and stars can be viewed perfectly.’ ”
This, of course, was all that they could say, because most telescope
makers believe the false tenets of astronomy, and imagine either that human
sight is limitless, or that vision, with the aid of their human constructions
called telescopes wTould be limitless in a vertical direction.
They think that the sun, moon, and stars are moving with the earth-and-
sea-globe, which they imagine is also a star, and all moving at infinite
distances somewhere in infinite space, and they think that men can gaze at
those distant objects through the telescope, vertically, weather permitting !
But that telescopes cannot help us to perform such miracles horizontally,
the optician was compelled to admit. And even with the aid of a high
position the longest distance that can be seen with the naked eye, he was
forced to own that he could not guarantee that the telescope’s power would
extend the ramge of vision from London to Brighton, a distance of some
fifty miles.
But he stated that, “under favourable conditions, the most powerful
telescopes should carry a distance of fifty to sixty miles,” i.e., horizontally.

Yet all are taught, from shore to shore,
Much further they can see.
Unlimited man’s sight is not,
None of his senses are,
But theory — science men forgot
They could not see so tar. ®
HUMAN SIGHT is limited, and equal in every direction
when there are equal conditions and possibilities.
Most people would agree to this proposition at first sight,
but few think of the results of the application of the principle.
Atmospheric differences and variations in different directions
cause the sight to be curtailed or cut short of its full length of
view. Sometimes these differences obtain in one direction
and sometimes in another, and local differences are innumer¬
able as the stars. But although the possibilities of human
sight are equal both vertically and horizontally, and also
betwixt these two at every point, it is usually, more or less,
cut short, horizontally rather than vertically. When there
are no solid obstructions, such as buildings, hills, trees, etc.,
even then smoke, vapours, mists, etc., refract the light.
Humidities in the air, as well as the eye’s nearness to the
earth, all prevent the full possibilities of sight horizontally.
Looking vertically, sometimes clouds and mists preclude
the fully extended reach of sight quite as effectually as do
solid sight-deterrents on the earth in the shape of bricks and
mortar, etc.
Even when the human eye is looking over the open sea or
over a plane its full range is rarely reached.
The eye is always in the centre of its own visual bounds,
the full extent of which it can only see under favourable
conditions, when all obstacles or obstructing causes are cleared
away.
The heavens are pictured down to meet the human eye,
and no man can possibly see beyond his eyesight’s range
within his limited area. This perspectively appears enclosed
by circular bounds extended as far as the individual’s eye-
powrer can command on all sides. Each human eye is enclosed
as in a tent by the limitations of its own formed canopy.
In every position on earth or on sea a man is under the
same conditions. His eye-formed canopy or “tent” is ever
over him, and if he moves a few yards, or a hundred miles, he
can never extend the limits of his own bounds determined by
his own eye and the limitations of light. The laws controlling
these conditions are fixed.
Every man’s eye-formed bounds moves along with him
bodily, new canopies ever forming round him wherever he may
go. But his eye can only command sight-grasp of a few miles
of circuitous space in breadth or height.
The heavens sink down to his horizon, and consequently
the heavenly lights in motion appear in a dome as though
moving above bis head. And wherever the field of motion of
the heavenly lights may be — whether far or near above —
they are reflected down through the atmosphere to each
human eye, and they appear -within the limits of the eye’s
own bounds according to its located position on the earth or sea.
The images of the sun, moon, and wandering stars pass
through the eye-formed “ tent ” according to their regular
courses. That the projected image of the sun comes through
the atmosphere into the horizon of every mortal’s limited area
and very near above the earth is an evident fact — as is shown
in the following diagrams.*
It is shown that the image seen of the sun within the
eye-formed tent or canopy of every person on earth often
appears within two or three miles above the earth, or the
spectator’s eye. It was so when the drawing of Diagram III*
was made.

The sun “rises” perspectively into the horizon of the
eastern atmosphere limits of each man’s eye-formed bounds,
or tent, gradually rising higher and higher until noon, when it
reaches its zenith, or central point of vision.

These facts may be made clearer by the following diagram.

In the above diagram let A represent the sun, B a magni¬
fying glass.
Those rays which fall vertically on the glass B pass
and are converged at the point C. This experiment can be
tried any day when there is sunshine, and if the converging
rays are focussed on a piece of paper as at C the focussed
image of the sun will be seen, and it will set fire to the paper.

In the same way the Sun Light is focussed in the
atmosphere, and that which we see is a focussed image borne
by sun-rays in the air in harmony with the eye’s nature.
This diagram was taken from observation for the author
by a scientist.
S was the focussed image of the sun shining through the
clouds, and its rays diverged to the right towards some trees
as at B, and to the left to a distant church.
These rays made an angle of about 45° with the earth,
and the distance from A to B was four to five miles. Drop a
perpendicular from S to C, then the distance over B, a little
over two miles, equals the altitude of S — the focussed
image of the sun. If we were to rise higher in the air in a
balloon the focussed image of the sun would rise higher with
us, up to a certain height, just as when we approach a
rainbow, its arch recedes from us as we approach it.

This diagram roughly represents a sectional elevation of
the human eye. A may represent the aqueous humour; B
the crystalline lens which answers to the glass which con¬
verges the rays of light ; C represents the eyeball filled with
what is called the vitreous humour.
All these, with the cornea in front of the eye, are trans¬
parent, and they allow the light to go through the pupil of the
eye to the membranous lining of the eye-ball called the retina.
If an arrow be placed before the eye as at D, the rays of
light will pass from it through the pupil and the crystalline
lens in straight lines and fall on the retina at the back of the
eyeball, where the arrow will be inverted as at E.
When these facts are properly appreciated it will be
seen that the eye cannot stretch out further in one direction
than another. In fact the eye does not “ stretch out” at all ;
it is light which comes into the eye. Strictly speaking we
never see anything outside the eye, all vision is within the
eye or optic nerve ; and we learn from our other senses to
associate distance with the various objects we see.
But even after much experience these distances are often
deceptive. For instance, mountains look much nearer before
rain than after it. When we have digested these facts we
shall see the absurdity of thinking that the sun and stars are
many millions of miles away from the earth.
No architect makes a light or a fireplace a million times
greater than the house he wants to light up and warm, and
the Creator was too good an architect to make such a blunder !
The sun and moon and stars were made to light and wTarm
this, the only world ; and no other world has ever been
discovered by astronomers.
Where'er a man’s horizon he.
Not one yard further can lie see.
Man s eye-formed tent is God s provision.
To frame and circle all his vision.
In all directions he can see,
His eye-line’s length the same will be.
The horizontal line of sight
Is equal to its length upright:
That is, straight on before his eye
Is just the same up vertically.
Controlled by certain limits, too,
The telescope extends the view :
And its extended line of gaze
Is equal in its length all wans.
All mortal things have limit seopes.
Including man-made telescopes.
But globites think their eyes can trace
A hundred million miles in "space:”
That is. when looking towards the sun
They say the stars are further on.
Some stars then see are — so then san —
Five hundred million miles away.
But the Creator of the sky
Created, too, the human eye:
So, doubtless, tis a wise decision
That man is limited in vision.
The one who said “ Thou shalt not die "
Deceived man also re his eye !
But each man's dome formed by his eye
Holds all he sees of earth or sky.

GALILEO.
The following was the official confession, in 1616 A.D., of the Church
of Rome, when confronting the then Astronomical innovator, Galileo, who
recanted and publicly confessed that his doctrine of the earth’s motion was
false : — “ I. The proposition that the sun is the centre of the world and
immovable from its place, is absurd, philosophically false and formally
heretical, because it is expressly contrary to the Holy Scriptures.”
“II. The proposition that the Earth is not the centre of the world, nor
immovable, but that it moves, and also with a diurnal motion, is also
absurd, philosophically false, and theologically considered, equally erroneous
in faith." “And so we say, pronounce, and by our sentence declare,
decree, and reserve, in this and in every other better form and manner,
which lawfully we may and can use. So We, the subscribing Cardinals
pronounce.” “ This 26th day of February, 1616.”
From exhumed years, behold ! upraised from past,
We see the Serpents’ plans were deeply cast ;
There ! in a Dungeon with God’s Light expelled,
A man upon “ the Rack ” is cruelly held.
Galileo it is — now old and weak,
His torturers turn the screw — a piercing shriek.
Inquisitors screw more, but, not a sound,
“ He’s dead — they hissi — then throw him on the ground.
Another torturer tries (such as are “ sainted ”)
To tempt their victim, who through pain had fainted ;
He said “ You must Recant — with Solemn Vow,
If you refuse, the Stake is ready Now ! ”
The Aged Sufferer sank ’neath Terror’s sway,
And fearing Burning Torture, whisper’d “ yea,"
Exultant with success, his gaolers brought
His mangled frame in agony to court ; — -
And there Galileo, Forced — in Jesu’s Name —
Swore what he thought a lie, to escape Rome’s Awful Flame.
With heaving breath, and nerves o’er-strain’d within
He took a lying Oath of shame and sin ; —
Yet as Salvation’s Testament he clasped
It seems he almost wavered at the last.
But he was forced to swear what lie believed a lie
While all those “ Christian ” priests stood calmly by !
Now if we “ try the Spirits ” sensibly
Was Christ’s kind spirit in that “ Holy See ” ?
Though men have tortured by the civil power
True Christians all inherit mercy’s dower.
Galileo said, “ It moves,” in whisper low,
And thus his faith in theory, he did show.
This only proved his character was high,
And that he loathed his false oath, as a lie —
But mortals oft mistake false things for Truth
And vice versa unto Age from youth.
The laity then were never deemed reliable
Or competent to handle their own Bible.
Yet many born and bred neath priestly sway,
Seem earnest for the truth in many a way.
Like Saul, they deem no other way or light,
Save that they’re born in, leads to God and Right !
Popes — priests® — and all who’re caught in satan’s net,
May suffer loss, but are not stranded yet.
When Truth is mixed with doctrines false — we see,
Like foul priestcraft — its satan’s policy
To crush man's mind by falsehood’s imposition
Is the Old Spirit of the Inquisition !
Men rob their fellow-men of liberty —
But those deceived God surely can set free.§
Rome’s popes have ceased to oppose the whirling ball ;
They now condone it, and leave Truth to fall !
This shows “ Christ’s Vicars ” popes can never be,
Because they change their doctrines fallibly —
One pope infallibly condemn’d earth motion,
And cursed the man who gave birth to the notion.
Infallibly — popes now, “the globe ” receive :
And what Old popes condemned, New popes believe !
The eighth pope Urban, in a certain way,
Affords an object lesson now — to-day.
And every mortal priest or pope, forsooth,
Should copy his regard for Cosmic Truth.
But the cruel tortures lie, through Rome endorced,
Make the great Truth he guarded sink — as lost !

• The earthly priesthood ended in Christ. The Christian’s Priest is in
Heaven — in the presence of God ! “ An High Priest for ever after the
order of Melchisedec.” Heb. vi. 20.
§ “ The deceived and the deceiver are his.” — Job xii. 16.
+ The writer is entirely opposed to all the doctrines which are peculiar to
the Church of Rome. But nevertheless, Rome upholds truths of the
highest vital importance to mankind — which include Faith in God, in
the Lord Jesus Christ — and in the Holy Spirit, and the forsaking of sin.
The ancient Roman Catholic Church also upheld true Bible Cosmogony.
The salvation of Christ -believing Roman Catholics appears certain:
but it seems evident that the man-made doctrines which their Church
enforce, at least, cause them much needless loss and suffering during
their present earthly life : yet who will be accountable for it — if it
has to be accounted for — we must leave unanswered. It cannot be
denied that various conflicting doctrines, intermixed with truth, are
also in the tenets of the numerous Protestant sects — including the
Church of England. And it is a sad fact that the Protestant Church
